The View From My Own Zone

Finals are finished and my conscience is relived. I took a tactical sick day, dropped baby off at daycare because I "didn't want to get her sick", and watched the game on my DVR, in my own zone.

Yeah, it's serious, we jumped. So did I, repeatedly, and enthusiastically. First off, before I go any further....WHO DAT MOTHERF!@#ER!!!! I think that this has to be better for Saints fans than just about any other organization in the league. Want proof? The Houston Texans are the only team with fewer playoff wins (because they have never been to the playoffs) But hey, they are an expansion team. Only a few teams haven't been to the superbowl. But if you take that list and subtract teams that won old school NFL championships(Lions, Browns) and expansion teams (the Jags and Texans), your answer is 1. Guess who? The other 13-0 NFL team. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

I noticed a lot of discussion about, "quit whining, we're winning". I hear ya. We should be excited. I sure as hell am.  I mean, I'm going through underwear like Tiger.....no I won't, sorry for even bringing it up.(bonus points for best filler). But lets not forget that it is the strive for perfection that has brought us here. I can't help but analyze everything, so I notice when mistakes are made.I'm sure the coahing staff is the same way X10 (well maybe X5). Regardless, it helps remind me that the Saints can be beat on any Sunday. I need that, because if you look at the shit luck that has gone our way this year, I'd swear that the NFL is somehow fixed. I love this. I can't get enough. I want more.

I fear @Carolina. It's cold, it's Carolina. I don't like it. Just putting that on record. Speaking of  "on record".

Some stuff from game....

Vilma getting burned on the first drive, then stopping the game winning 4th down on the same play. Too sweet. Also too sweet, Payton's 3rd &19 screen to Reggie when ATL went their Madden style "engage eight" (Nan knows what I'm talking about).

Devery, iiisshhh. Not all bad by any stretch of the imagination, but left room for things to be desired.

Did I mention, Vilma is the savior.

Drew had a long 2nd down play where he was flushed out of the pocket, rolled right and hit Shockey perfectly to set up a manageable 3rd down. Further proving Drew Brees is a robot.

I think I figured something else out. You guys help me out with this. I think Sean Payton is using Reggie primarily when he is ahead of the down and distance. Oh, and Reggie, doin' work. Breaking arm tackles behind the line of scrimage, positive punt returns, good blocking, just a good day of football.

Charles Grant could leave tomorrow and I would not be concerned. Will Smith gets to play a sports hernia card. He has performed well this season and I had hernia surgery a couple months ago(round 2). I can't even imagine....

Randall Gay is consistent. He consistently gets beat by #1's and consistently does well against #'3's. Therefore, I like him in at nickel. Well, it should be needless to say, I would love to have two starting CB's back.

I bet Darren Sharper would love to have two starting CB's back more than I would.

One more, and probably the most important in my book. I would like to forbid all 16-0 talk. If you want to talk about undefeated, which is cool by my, then let's refer to it as 19-0.
