One of the really cool things I think Payton has done and it was soooo desparately needed in a town like NOLA where the fans will cheer to see you play whether you win or lose, is drill the statement in not to “eat the cheese”. I mean, what a chump a player has to feel like with that statement hanging around, if he bites on all of the garbage that the press (and fans) feed you. You know, though, that has to get harder and harder every week as the press (and fans) get more prolific in their praise.
