How about Tebow in a Saints uni?

Jack of all trades, smart player.  Could play backup QB, FB, spec teams. Great character and team player.  Payton loves those kind of guys.  Versatile, smart, and humble.  He could even help Drew lead the chant before the game.  If Tebow slips, you never know with Coach Payton.  I know Tebow is projected mid first round now, but his game will get picked apart by scouts the next few months and he could fall out of the first round.  Plus, the Saints have done so well in FA and trades the past few years(note: Greer, Vilma, Sharper, Wendys, Shockey, Fujita, Shanle, Brees, Pierre, Evans, Moore).  They could draft a someone like Tebow and then sign or trade for another LB or DL or 2 in the offseason.   Just sayin'

So true

we dont need another qb, we still have Chase Daniel waiting in the wings. We need OL & DL

by N_O_1saintfan on Dec 15, 2009 6:50 AM CST reply actions

I think we need to look for a veteran backup QB with more long term upside than Mark Brunell. Someone along the lines of Bruce Gradkowski, Josh McCown, Ryan Fitzpatrick, etc., would be fine by me. Daniel is a project in every sense of the word. I don’t want to have to rely on him anytime soon. Drafting a young buck is fine, but if you’re going to go that route, make it a prototypical pro quarterback prospect. I want nothing to do with Tim Tebow.

what about a little Chris Redman?

If you could get him in the fourth round or later

Butt Jacksonville or Tampa would not wait that long. They will draft Tebow for the ticket selling value.

Tebow another Walsh or wurfel

cannot throw ,running will get him killed and not fast enough for reciever a draft bust no way we want him, but he is a good boy.

As a fan of Tebow as

a person and as a hardworking team player…. I wouldn’t mind him in a Saints uniform. He represents everything the Saints want in a player. But with that said we won’t draft him. If he was a linebacker or fullback we could definitly use him. But he wants to throw the ball and I think he deserves to go somewhere where they will teach him let him develop into a true QB. I know a lot of people down him because he runs more than he throws but the guy has a good arm and just needs a good coach. I know Miami has Henne now but I think Tebow would’ve been a perfect fit for that scheme of offense with how they run the wildcat because he can be a threat running or throwing. I wish him the best tho…. even tho Florida beat my Tigers. But he’s a good guy and I don’t think he’ll be a bust if a team that takes him doesn’t thow him out there before he truly knows what he’s doing like the Raiders did to Russel.

i like tebow

but we have other problems to address, maybe in 4-5 years we should bring someone in to learn under the master. but for the saints and tebow, its too soon. also i dont think he last till the 4th round. if he did end up a saint, he would probably buy a house next to weurfel (prob not spelled right) in the projects and show off his heisman to all the kids too. (weurfel = great human being and terrible nfl qb)

tebow

Tebow is a hell of a player in the college ranks. I just don’t see him with skills /speed or size that makes him a good fit in the NFL. If heart and leadership skills were a position he would be a first round pick. I have the greatest respect for him . Thats just me. GEAUX SAINTS

Tebow reminds me of a cross between Matt Jones and Jared Lorenzen. I can’t even begin to guess what that equates to on the pro level. Probably an H-back.

roflcopter

what a mix that is. He’s a nfl tight end and thats all there is to it. H-back type like the redskins used to use cooley is probably what we’ll see out of him in the nfl.

No

Absolutely not. Tim Tebow does not have the skills to be a successful QB in the NFL. What made him such a threat in Division I FBS is the fact that he’s a QB built like a fullback. As far as making him a true QB for the NFL, that would be a challenge. His release is too slow and good defenses in NCAA have been able to limit him. If he couldn’t also deliver those rushing touchdowns, no one would really give Tim Tebow serious consideration as a draft choice. I think someone is going to draft him, but you’re better off converting him into a running back.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

F Tebow.

I cannot stand the guy, and I do not want to see him on the Saints.

by Just Some Guy on Dec 15, 2009 2:09 PM CST reply actions

Does anyone know his 40 time?

I haven’t made a career out of watching Tebow by any stretch of the imagination; but when I have watched him, what impresses me most is that he looks slow. I mean, like molasses. His wind-up, his throwing motion, his rushing style…everything looks like it develops as fast as a Polaroid. I can’t imagine him succeeding in the NFL at any position.

So…can anyone contradict me, and vouch for some speed that I haven’t seen in my limited viewing?

HAHA

Tebow is ok but i wouldnt want him on the saints he brings nothing we need
There’s a boy that grew up coming to my house since he was young who is a junior at ms. state and also there starting OLB i have a pic of him sacking Tebow earlier this year

by simone219 on Dec 15, 2009 3:21 PM CST up reply actions

i'd pass

i like Tebow and think he’ll be a good QB but not elite. He needs to go somewhere that needs a QB and somewhere that’ll play him when the time is right. The Seahawks might not to be bad. Maybe even the 49ers or the Rams. I wouldn’t necessarily start him right away but let him get aquainted with the NFL. They could probably get him in the 2nd round too so he wouldn’t get the big big money to start right away. I don’t think he would be a great fit especially since Brees will probably play for at least another 5 seasons, imo. Also, we have a better true QB in Daniels. We’re not the team for him

Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

LOL

No TY for Tebow to the Saints, and even though I disagree with most of you that he will be a bust in the NFL he doesn’t have a spot on our Saints team. We need an outside linebacker like curry or cushing, and a BEAST of a DE, like that kid from Texas (if he lasts to spot number 32) Tebow will be successful at SOME position in the NFL the kid works too hard not to be and that is the biggest factor in kids in college making the transition to the pros…their work ethic.

by Lil_joe692 on Dec 15, 2009 5:49 PM CST reply actions

I don't think so

Not enough roster spots. Surely there would be someone faster….or someone bigger

Perhaps with the Chiefs or the Rams

Tebow aint no Saint

1 We don’t need no Tebow crying when we loose a game at least not on TV
2 We don’t need any look at me I’m a superstar
The Saints team since 06 is the best team the Saints ever had, there are many superstars on the team, but they are not airholes that go around saying look at what I can do, what I’m saying is if it ain’t broken don’t fix it
