Jeremy Shockey Inactive with Turf Toe; Lance Moore Returns

Well, we knew there was no way Jeremy Shockey would start every game of the season.

The NFL Network has just reported that the Shockmeister will not be playing for the Saints in their matchup against the Cowboys tonight. Shockey is suffering from turf toe, which sidelined him last week during the Falcons game.

Not good news for Saints fans. Turf toe is tough to recover from and, like groin injuries, can really be nagging. Hopefully it's not serious, otherwise he may never be 100% for the rest of the year.

Regardless, the Saints will march on with the rest of their talented group of offensive weapons. Like possession receiver Lance Moore, who finally returns tonight after being out with injury for most of the season. Shockey's absence will mean Moore might get more work tonight than he anticipated in his first game back.

Damn...............

I would have bet that nobody could not have stopped Shockey from playing in this game.

Turf toe is NOT good.

That’s what has kept Atlanta’s QB out. Recovery time is very unpredictable. Damn, damn, damn!

Too bad he's out

but I think we’ll be fine. We lose one guy and get one back who is equally dangerous. Plus Thomas has done a good job. Wonder if that means the new FB gets some work this game too.

Get ready to FEEL DAT BREES!!!

Idiot Giant fan here....

I’ll try not to take offense to that comment…unlike most of my brethren, I still love the hell out of Shockey and hoped he had his best season yet, just to show people the mistake we made for trading him. So get well soon Shockey, you’re the only person i root for on this team, i’d like to see you with a lil more glory this season!

Shockey might be out for playoffs...

Turf toe can be really bad.

DeMarcus Ware is playing for Dallas, btw.

Is Porter active?

I haven’t heard him listed with the inactives. That would be awesome to have him back.

Is he 100%

if not, I’d rather Jenkins and McKenzie out there, or even Gay.
Let him recover IMO

No Big Sed, and Ware is in for the Cowgirls

Forget the nickel and dime, you'd better bring a half- dollar to deal with this team.--Tony Moss, NFL editor

Why would you risk

further injury to his neck when its only been 5 days since the injury happened. This is stupid on the Cowboys part. 1 wrong hit and he could have serious problems. Just Dumb

most important Hartley is active

I have him on 13 FF teams :)

Why do the Saints keep players that are always injured?

Shockey and Bush only play 1/2 the games each season. Is Coach Payton going to keep relying on these guys next year? Time to fish or cut bait!

The San Diego Chargers would agree with you. Results? Brees in a Saints uniform. Oooooh yeaaaaa!
