New England Patriots 17 @ New Orleans Saints 38: Prediction Results and Voting

Okay guys, here are this weeks results.

Once again, you had to get all three correct to be nominated. This week we have four of you who made perfect predictions, some of them lamer than others. Many people were counting on the rushing game to come up big, which didn't really happen and the absence of Reggie Bush really screwed a few people as well.

And just a note, for the first time this season we have a member, Philinwood, nail the score prediction. As such, I have also included him in the vote even though he didn't get one of his regular predictions correct. I'll let you guys decide.

Polls are open!

Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather was asked, word for word, "What happened on the long touchdown?"

    Said Meriweather: "Which long touchdown?"

The winners all look more on the conservative side

than usual, but 2 interceptions for Brady was pretty bold given he had only thrown 6 going in. Go Maurice!

    Agree

    Good job Maurice.

    Question

How do you interpret “2+”? I interpret that as meaning “more than 2.” So, for instance, Maurice84’s second and third predictions would be, “Brady throws more than 2 interceptions” and “Meachem scores more than 1 TD”…both of them incorrect.

Also: coldpizza’s second prediction is correct: no running back had over 100 yards. Maroney and Thomas were tops with 64 yards each.

    Actually

I interpret 2+ as being “two or more.” I see what you’re saying but I think in our little game, it’s come to mean two or more.

You are right, coldpizza’s prediction is correct. Just missed that one.

I went with bmi601, also. Primarily for the Colston pick. Meachem has seemingly scored every week lately. Colston had only topped 100 yards once prior this entire season.

Sigh, here I help the team win in dramatic fashion and I can’t even get a single peep outta people for my predictions… Well I met my goal, at least, I predicted the Saints to lose in hopes that they would then win, and I predicted bad things in my predictions in hopes they wouldn’t come true either, and not one did! I call that a win in MY book.

by FriarBob on Dec 2, 2009 7:13 PM CST reply actions

    Thanks for the votes!!

I do have to say this- I didn’t deserve to win because others actually got predictions, as by the rules, correct. But it was nice to get recognized.

But, I do have a big point. No one should even have 1% doubt about this team. We don’t have to discuss it or to flaunt it or to get cocky in any way. But, this is a special team. I have had such a calm, confident feeling of ease about them, since training camp. I haven’t felt this way since 1969. I will post about that later. For the record, I predict Minnesaota and the Colts losing this weekend and I am predicting that San Diego wil play in the Super Bowl vs The Saints. Mark it down.

    funny...

    I predicted:

“Randy Moss catches at least one pass where he practically walks into the endzone because there is no secondary for miles.”

and we turned around and did it to them. I should get a defacto win for that reverse psychology.

    Not to pick nits, but

I got the first one correct. The Saints scored with 1:52 to go in first half which is definitely less than 2:00.
