Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

What next?

OK, last night we laid a stink bomb and then desperately tried to come back at the end.  And we almost still pulled it off.  If we play as desperate as we did in the 4th quarter all game of the next four games we will probably win all four of them by 20 point margins.

But that's the key word there.  IF.  Will we actually play hungry and desperate?  Or will we let another inferior team knock us off?

A few weeks back Minnysoso went into the desert and got beat down about as bad as we did last night.  They lost to a team that then in turn lost to a 5-7 team (at the time of course).  Arizona isn't really a better team than the Vikings, but they beat them like a drum.  The next week, Minny came out on fire and laid their own can of whooping on the next team they faced.

Will we do the same?  Will this be our Arizona game, where we get our butts handed to us, and then we come out angry and hungry for a few weeks and beat our next few opponents like drums ourselves?

I hope so.

I would think so

It seems like there would be a lot pointing in that direction. A LOT of players are on the mend. The next game actually, really means something. We’re not playing a team that has been threatened with their existence, just about, because of a new shiny, ridiculously expensive stadium. “Look at the shiny, new toy I got you?” Sheesh!

It was a lot of fun pursuing 19-0, but, now it’s probably time to put away the childish games and get serious.

I have to keep going back to the injury reports.

Our boys seem to stay at a level of banged-up-ness that is driving me nuts. We have the personnel to beat the snot out of any team in the NFL when everybody is healthy. We haven’t had that luxury for some time now. I know, the other teams have injuries also. Our backups just have to turn it up a few notches and get this thing rolling again.

As a staunch Shockey fan I’m particularly upset about his injury. Turf tow is fickle in that it can take a week to heal or it can take two months. You never know. What I do know is I feel a lot better when he is on the field. He presents a major threat and brings leadership with him.

Can we win without him? Of course. I just need a lot more “tranquilizer” to get me through the game when he’s not playing.

If, at the beginning of the season, a magician came up to me and said, “Tell you what. I’ll gaurantee you 13 straight wins if you just lose to the Cowboys.” My answer would have been, “Okey dokey.”

I have been convinced for awhile that Coach is resting those injured far beyond the norm

The guy, I think, is a gambler extaordinaire and, I think extraordinarily smart. So, I think, when needed, our team is going to be in very fine shape. There goes those rose-colored glasses, again!

The "Perfect Monkey" fell off last nite

Now they can focus on the ultimate goal but we need healthy players to do it. I could use some tranquilizers myself cause that game wore my old ass out.

Good news at last - the Panthers just beat the Vikings!

We win one more game and we have home field advantage.

Cha-ching!

winning the next game is important

but i also think how they win it is important also. i think a bit of domination would be just what the saints need to relight the fire.
