Just for the record
Greer said sports hernia recovery is 3-6 weeks, usually.
3 weeks from Dec. 8 (day of surgery) is Dec. 29
6 weeks from Dec. 8 is Jan. 18 (the Monday after the divisional round of playoffs – our first game of postseason)
I badly want him back, but I also don’t want to rush him back and threaten long-term damage…

He'll play
probably a little bit in the Carolina game just to see if he needs more time. They’ll probably put him in the nickle or dime. I noticed that they did that with Porter when the game first started. I think they came into the Dallas game thinking they would use him sparingly and then Gay went down so he had to play more. Even though the D as a whole did terrible, Porter played well and didn’t look as rusty as you would think after being out that long. I think a lot of that is because they have to face a #1 offense every week in practice so it gives them an edge as far as coming back full speed and alert.
With Greer back by the Carolina game or first playoff game I think he will be ready. The guys that are on the field and banged up are the ones that need the rest. I think Payton know this and with the Vikes losing, he’s going to do the smart thing and rest his banged up players if we get a big lead against TB and probably most of the game in Carolina.
Get ready to FEEL DAT BREES!!!

Greers' surgery/repair
not as severe as Shockeys’ last season. Hoping for a speedy recovery
