Bobby McCray Arrested for DUI

According to wwltv.com, Bobby McCray was arrested for DUI:

Saints defensive end Bobby McCray was arrested for driving under the influence in New Orleans around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Gary Flot, a spokesman for the NOPD.

The Saints only comment on the situation came from the teams spokesperson, Greg Bensel:

"We are aware of the situation involving Bobby McCray and we will let the legal process take its course,"

Not much info in the article, we'll probably get more later. Negative publicity is definitely not something the Saints need at this time. Hopefully this won't keep him from playing in the playoffs but it could spell the end for McCray if the team decides to treat him like they did practice squad players Biren Ealy and Kolomona Kapanui, who were immediately released after being arrested for urinating in public back in May.

Ouch

It’s a first offense, so he could have that working in his favor. He offered no resistance with his arrest and depending on his BAC (how far he was above the legal limit), he may be able to get off with just community service. I don’t know all the details.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

It was reported that he refused to take the breathalizer. Kind of like pleading the "5th?"

Ya get it? Pleading the 5th? The 5th?

First offense? Well at least he has that going for him. Hopefully the league takes it easy on him. But Payton should blast him!

I know whats so hard about that

He makes more than enough money to take a cab. It baffles me how these athletes and celebraties get charged with these kinds of offenses when they can just hire a driver or take a cab home. Thank God he didn’t kill someone like Stallworth did.

Get ready to FEEL DAT BREES!!!

In addition to a DUI charge, Saints DE Bobby McCray was also charged with speeding, careless operation of a motor vehicle and driving without registration early Tuesday morning.
McCray was arrested when he refused to take a breath test. He has since been released on his own recognizance. The Saints have said they will let the legal process take its course before they address the situation.

This is Sad

Bobby McCray was arrested for driving under the influence in New Orleans around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, What time is practice on Wednesday? Greg Williams needs to make him run wind sprints until all alcohol is out of his system. This is not the type of player I would want on my team.

Dont be too quick to criticise

I got a DUI many years ago for having one beer but because it was only 15 minutes between the beer and the stop, I blew a .09 and was nowhere near drunk. Speeding with a beer on your breath……Not a good thing.

the guy shouldn't be up at 4:30am

it seems like he doesn’t care about the team.

McCray has been INJURED all season you guys sound like a bunch of dummies calling him a disappointment. This is the first disappointing thing he has done its too bad because he had that article in the Times he was writing and he seemed like a good member of the team and I was looking forward to seeing him next season.

I was looking forward to seeing him THIS season

Looks like we’re both in for a disappointment.

Ok, think of it this way: Show of hands time

How many of you have been busted for DUI?

How many of you have driven under the influence but have not been busted?

Wow.

I got busted once. Doesn’t make me evil, but it does(or did, hopefully) make me an idiot. Same goes for McCray, except that he could probably afford the cab fare. And I don’t think he should get booted from the team because of a DUI. I think he should get booted from the team because he’s totally unproductive, we have better and more devoted situational linemen now, AND because of the DUI. But I read his NOLA.com article, he seems like a nice guy. I wish him well, and hope he finds his starting job. Elsewhere.

For those of yall complaining about his production

give it a rest. The guy plays a handful of snaps a game, how can he get into any rythym? Hell, Grant plays 75% of the game and he just looks pathetic this year. Maybe you should give players on a team you supposedly support the benefit of the doubt before you condemn them to death.

Remember Vilma was stopped before and the charges were dropped. I wasnt on here, but I bet the same people were calling for his head.

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
