We only got 5???

I think we should have had at least 2 more. Will Smith and one of our CB’s.

by jray2000 on Dec 29, 2009 9:22 PM CST reply actions

Well our CBs prolly didn't play enough games

but I agree on Big Will. What other DE besides Allen had a better numbers year?

by ReggieVilma on Dec 29, 2009 11:40 PM CST up reply actions

I'm surprised...

Carl Nicks isn’t at least a reserve guard. Hutchinson is good, but I think Carl Nicks is playing at just as high of a level.

Plus...

I maybe the only fan that actually went out and got a Carl Nicks jersey, so I’ve gotta support him for the pro-bowl.

Nicks should be there, but that’s not uncommon with o-linemen. They don’t go until the year after they deserve it.

New Orleans Saints, "God's Team"

by D.P.M. on Dec 30, 2009 10:31 AM CST up reply actions

AGREED...

Could’nt agree more…
Carl Nick’s has had a awesome year & hardly anybody outside the SAINT’s even know who he is, lol. He’s great & deserves it. I was extremely surprised that W. SMITH did’nt make it, thats insane… Not only did he have double diget sack’s, he is one of the best DE against the run. I know we have NOT been the best against the run as a team, but he as an individual is one of the best, bottom line. He should’ve atleast made #2 spot.
Now, as far as Stinchcomb, lol, that’s a JOKE. He’s average, but nowhere near a probowler… Atleast NOT in my eye’s, but thats just my opinion!!!

All together, SAINTS had a wonderful Pro Bowl year & look’n forward to the rest of tha year… OH, just to warn u all, DON’T expect to see any of the SAINT’S player’s start’n or EVEN play’n at all in the Pro Bowl…
(THEY DON’T ALLOW PLAYER’S WHO ARE HEAD’N TO THE “SUPER BOWL” TO PLAY IN THE PRO BOWL)!!! :^}~ wHo dAt (#1) & A!NT LooK’n BaCk!!!

by RealDeal37 on Dec 30, 2009 8:14 AM CST up reply actions

Pleasantly surprised with Vilma

I didn’t expect that, but he deserves it. Stinchcomb, I’ve never been a big fan but we haven’t really heard his name this year, which means he’s had a good year

Is there an IR roster for the Pro Bowl? Just wonderin'.

Will Smith deserved consideration.

He’s had a monster year, racked up better numbers than everyone but Jared Allen(and he’s neck-and-neck with the Mullet), and hasn’t really had a “bad” game all year. Hell, when Sed and Clancy first went down, Smith was getting in Hargrove’s ear while they were in their down-stance, telling him what to do.

What a freaking joke this selection process is

YOU GOTTA GO THERE TO COME BACK

by bondcrash on Dec 30, 2009 2:03 AM CST up reply actions

Smith should have gone.

He’s had a better year than Trent Cole and Julius Peppers. Trent Cole missed some games and Peppers didn’t get in the grove until late, but I guess that’s what people remember. And Jared Allen may have 13.5 sacks but like 6 or 7 of those came against Green Bay when the Packers were giving out more sacks than Wal-Mart.

Agreed

Julius Peppers is a joke. Just another, I play when I want to, turd.

will smith should deserves a shout

and what about morstead? i don’t know if he was even nominated, that’s how much the pro bowl means to me.

The Pro Bowl is like a bunch of buddies playing poker with a 10 cent limit.

Kind of entertaining, though.

Morstead

should be in the pro bowl

I HATE THE DALLAS COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that matters

is the All-Pro selections. Pro-Bowl is just like the All-Star game, just a popularity contest.

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb

Ya how the hell didn't Thomas Morstead make the team? If Tracy Porter was healthy, he would've made it too..

I’m rather disappointed, I was expecting other players.. Jon Stinchcomb? lol is that a joke?

by AKAY47 on Dec 30, 2009 3:44 AM CST reply actions

None of 'em play...

…they’ll all be getting ready for the game the following weekend.

Just heard on Mike & Mike

If any of the Pro Bowl selections are in the SB they will not be playing

In West Philadelphia, Born and Raised...

Smith should’ve reshot an old episode of the Fresh Prince and put it on YouTube. Maybe then he’d have the name reconition to get votes. I’m pretty sure more than half of the fans vote on players just because they’ve heard their names before on television.

Agreed. Don't forget the Vikes overload, too.

That makes no sense what so ever

Witten was garbage the beginning of the year, Gonzales is always consistent. To me that was the biggest snub of all. Oh and none of the Bengals making it either.

I think it's pretty stupid that DesEam Jackson has two roster spots-

1 for WR and 1 for KR. Although he is talented, take the next guy down in one of those positions. I guess they probably had to go by the voting and they hopefully will wind up taking another choice.

Especially considering

how effective Percy Harvin has been as a returner. I don’t see why they wouldn’t vote Jackson in as a reciever and Harvin as a returner. Makes no sense.

Oh yeah, and Will Smith got robbed. He has to be an alternate at LEAST.

I agree re: Nicks and Will Smith

I also wonder why anyone would call Stinchcomb a joke?

While I would love to see Vilma start....

Patrick Willis is a friggin beast. Maybe the best I’ve ever seen. Can’t really disagree with the selection.

Also, Will Smith got hosed. If 13 sacks can’t get you a pro bowl nod I don’t know what can.

Most of the selections

were just people voting off of names alone and not performance. and I guarantee you most of the players from Dallas wouldn’t have made it if they wouldn’t have beaten us.
