Buh-bye David Patten

Per the Times-Pic

The New Orleans Saints made their first major roster move of the offseason Thursday, releasing veteran wide receiver David Patten, Saints spokesman Greg Bensel confirmed.

Patten, 34, played two seasons for the Saints and was a key member of the 2007 team, finishing the season with 54 catches for 792 yards and three touchdowns. His role decreased last season partially because of injuries and partially because of the emergence of Lance Moore as one of Drew Brees' favorite targets.

Yep...

Every time I get online these days, I expect to see the headline “Deuce is Let Loose”, or some shit like that :(

Alright...I'm cool with Harper. Bullocks must go!

Yeah

I kinda believe they’ll save that until next week and make it look like they did everything they could to keep him here. Who knows, that may or may not be true when it happens. I just hope he gets the respect and accolades he deserves from the organization when they do let him go. They can’t just unceremoniously release him without the risk of pissing off the fan base, which is something I’m sure they’d like to avoid.

Go Saints!!!!

Correcto

I had him on my FF team, that was his best day number wise, and hope for the rest of the season, then as you say, all down hill. heard he was a great in the locker room guy, also had bought a house in Mandeville, and was helping the younger WR’s…
