Jags release Fred Taylor
I have always loved this guy. When healthy he is a beast kind of like Deuce was. I'm guessing he was released for financial reasons not an utter lack of ability. He could add some veteran muscle(6'1 228) to the back field. So if he is within our price range I'd say take him.

I liked the idea of getting him too, until I read this. It's 2009, remember.

Jaguars released RB Fred Taylor.
Taylor offered to take a paycut, but the Jaguars wanted to move on, saving $6M under the cap. The NFL’s 16th all-time leading rusher, Taylor is coming off a career worst season. The 33-year-old averaged just 3.9 YPC and struggles in short-yardage and passing situations. Taylor wants to continue playing, but he may reconsider if he doesn’t get much interest as a free agent. Maurice Jones-Drew will likely be an every-down back in 2009.

rotoworld.com:
SI’s Peter King says he’d be “surprised” if the Patriots, Colts, and Steelers don’t consider signing free agent Fred Taylor.
Bill Belichick could see some Corey Dillon in Taylor, while the Colts may look to upgrade over Dominic Rhodes. The Steelers make the least sense; Taylor doesn’t play on third downs and Rashard Mendenhall is returning.
