In Fond Remembrance of Dulymus "Deuce" McAllister: New Orleans Saints Running Back 2001-2008
It is truly a sad day here in Who Dat Nation. A quick check over at the Saints official website shows us that the team has already moved on. Deuce's name is no longer listed on their official roster.
This thread is now open for everyone to leave their best wishes and share their most memorable Deuce McAllister moments.
You my boy Deeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuce!!

Damn, it still hurts
Doesn’t matter how much we knew this was coming, it sucks. Here I am at work, just checking in, and now it will be a moment that I’ll remember for a while. I’ll tell the grand kids,
“I had just grabbed some milk from the WaWa to go with the Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies my co-worker had brought in. I sat down to check into the best Saints blog ever, the one I have that old shirt from that says you don’t have to be rational to be a Saint’s fan. And there it was, a player how truly represented everything that can be great about a NFL player, had been released. Duece could move all 11 men if he wanted to. His heart moved more than that. Not to mention that killer Chicken Gordon Blue from his sandwich shop.”
It seemed inevidable, but I hoped something could happen. I wish him the best, but can y’all imagine watching him romp our asses in another uniform. GOD that would suck.
looking forward to 2010
it sucks but...
This is the way the league works now. Montana finished a Chief, Rice a raider, hell Emmitt Smith played for the Cardinals. I for one will never quite recover from having my all-time favorite saints player, Rickey Jackson, play for the 49ers. It is unfortunate that the cap is set up in such a way that these sort of moves become almost inevitable. If only there was a uncapped roster space for players who had been on the team for 8+ years or who held some sort of special significance to the franchise (although I’m sure there would be lots of room to abuse that, but you get my drift).
Here I Sit, Broken Hearted...
As I read the posts, I feel my eyes well up, my heart sink, and the lump in my throat gets a little bigger. This is truly the end of an era. I can’t remember feeling this way about the departure of any other player.
He will be missed :(
I guess now they really will be “Booing”.
Already know you that which you need.
