It's no easy task to add ONE quality specialist in mid-season much less three of them as the Saints did last year. That's a credit to Ryan Pace, the Saints director of pro personnel. Most Saints fans have probably never heard of Pace, but he is a key member of their front office and one of the most astute young talent evaluators in the league. Punter Glenn Pakulak, kicker Garrett Hartley and return man Courtney Roby were clearly upgrades over their predecessors and will have the upper hand in training camp for the starting spots at their respective positions.
It takes some talent and smarts to find suitable players. Doesn't take much to say "Yeah, ok. Let's try him out." I'm just sayin'.
