The Eagles re-signed their nickel cornerback, Joselio Hanson, to a five-year, $21 million contract that included $6.4 million of guaranteed money. Some teams viewed Hanson as a starting cornerback and, had he opted to wait, he very well might have landed a starting job. But Hanson opted to return to Philadelphia, where the Eagles are loaded with defensive backs.
Signing Hanson also could give the Eagles some additional flexibility to trade Lito Sheppard should Philadelphia get an offer it finds suitable.
Good news from philly!
