The Football GODS are giving us a chance!!!

I was reading up about the combine to see what our possibilities in the secondary were looking like and Mike Maylock, he's covering the combine, I thought I read a quote from him that M. Jenkins with his 40 times in the 4.5's would and could fall to the Saints at 14. So I read it again and again. I was at work so I couldn't really get into it but when I got home, IT'S TRUE!!!! I can't begin to image all the what if scenarios but we got a HELLA-GOOD chance to get a GREAT young player......GO SAINTS!!!

Malcolm Jenkins – DB – Player
In addition to running his forty in the mid-4.5s at the Combine Tuesday, Ohio State CB Malcolm Jenkins reportedly struggled in position drills.
NFL Network’s Deion Sanders was down on Jenkins’ footwork. Jenkins was fast and fluid enough to cover Greg Orton and Eric Decker in the slowed-down Big Ten, but he’s probably going to move to free safety.

Malcolm Jenkins – DB – Player
Ohio State CB Malcolm Jenkins reportedly ran unofficial forty times ranging from 4.52 to 4.58 Tuesday.
There is debate about whether Jenkins will play corner or safety in the NFL, with 4.50 being a cutoff point for cornerback in some teams’ eyes. A high football IQ type without elite speed, Jenkins may slip to the mid-first round if he’s seen as a safety.

Except this from Times-Pic:

“(Jenkins) is a guy that some people are trying to figure out if he’s a free safety or corner,” NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said. “Some people think he’s a Pro Bowl free safety (in) Year One.”
Jenkins still has a chance to improve his draft stock with an impressive performance at Ohio State’s Pro Day on March 13, so there’s no need to book him a flight to New Orleans just yet.

Very exciting stuff! I still like him and I like that Chung kid too. See M-E’s mock draft for more arguing.

If he's available

I think we’de be foolish NOT to take him. I’m always skeptical of rookie position changes, though. However, I trust G.W.- and I believe he he wants Jenkins as a Safety then a fine Safety he will be.

Hot Boudin, Cold Cous Cous, Comon Tigers Poosh Poosh Poosh!
