Time for a giggle: Saints to trade Drew Brees

The totally worthless Bleacher Report recently published a story about a trade between the Saints and the Vikings that would send Drew Brees up north, in exchange for several players. But you can't read the story anymore, because it has been deleted.

What you can do is: go to Google News and do a search on Drew Brees. You'll see the link--"Report: Vikings Close to a Deal for Saints' Quarterback Drew Brees"--and just a little appetizer of a blurb underneath. Don't bother clicking, as you'll just get a page with the message "This article has been deleted." However, the blurb changes: the first time I saw it, it mentioned Chester Taylor as one of the players involved; as of now, the blurb concerns Brees' career stats.

Also, you can visit a conversation on IGN boards about this "story," in which the terms were reported as "Chester Taylor, John David Booty and a second round pick."

As soon as you stop laughing...I wonder if the origin of this story is an actual proposed deal involving not Drew Brees, but Jay Cutler.

HA HA HA HA!

This is easily the most ridiculous thing I have heard all year. Someone must be somehow confusing Brees with Cutler. Now I know to just stay away from the Bleacher Report. There’s no way Payton lets no. 9 leave town. It would be like when Mr. Drysdale frantically tried to stop Granny and the Clampetts from leaving town with their $80+ million on those classic episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Go Saints!!!! Deuce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
