Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Jason Taylor cut by Redskins

I know we already have a lot of money tied up in our defensive ends, but if Jason Taylor could be had at a smaller price, I think he would be a good help.  I also know he's nearing the end of his line, but if he stays healthy, which he wasn't last year I think he could still potentially be a double digit sack guy and maybe even show Smith and Grant what it takes to be successful and consistent.

I know he went to college at Akron, but maybe has changed home bases to somewhere in the south after all those years with the Dolphins.  Also, the possibility of having Williams as a strong defensive coach is probably a strong recruiting tool for some of the veteran players.

Damn, I didn't see that one coming...

I disagree with trying to pick him up though…every ounce of resource the Saints have needs to be focused on improving our secondary. The Saints-Vikings game was on NFLN yesterday, and I watched that shit again. Under two minutes left in the game, and all the Vikings do is chunk the damn ball as far as they can, get a P.I. on K.K., we lose the freaking game. Again. That became the M.O. for any team to beat us. Chicago did it . Carolina did it. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Deuce!

oh that is some BS

rotoworld.com:

The Tampa Tribune expects the Bucs to “heavily pursue” free agent DE Jason Taylor.
“Several sources” told beat writer Anwar Richardson that Washington might cut Taylor last week and that once it did the Bucs would be in pursuit. Bucs DC Jim Bates has a strong relationship with Taylor from their days in Miami.

Just read this on NFL.com

that he was cut because he wouldn’t commit to off-season work-outs.

I watched him on Dancing with the Stars last year. I got the impression he was trying to get into acting or a tv show of some kind.

Trying to transition to post-career life before his career is over. Come on, man.

rotoworld.com:
The St. Petersburg Times suggests that free agent Jason Taylor is likely to sign with a new team shortly.
Taylor’s phone apparently blew up after he was cut by Washington. The paper says Taylor isn’t going to Tampa Bay and “seems to be headed elsewhere, probably in the next day or two.” The Packers would be a great fit.

T.O., JULIUS PEPPERS, LADANIAN TOMILSON

First off I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE TERRELL WORKOUT WITH A TRUE PASSING QUARTERBACK LIKE BREES, OWENS ALWAYS REQUIRES SOME SORT OF DOUBLE COVERAGE BY OPPOSING DEFENSES COLSTON & SHOCKY WOULD HAVE A MORE OPPORTUNITIES, NOW AS FAR AS DEFENSIVE END IF WE DONT GET T.O. OR LADANIAN WE HAVE TO GET JULIUS PEPPERS I SEEN ALL THE DAMN GAMES AND WE HAD NO PERSISTANT RUSH OTHER TEAMS QUARTERBACKS HAD ALL DAY TO DROP BACK AND THROW I KNOW ARE SECONDARY IS TO BLAME BUT DAMN WHERE IS THE PASS RUSH, I DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I SAID (SACK HIS ASS!!!) THIS YEAR RECIEVERS CAN ONLY BE COVERED FOR SO LONG……

blink

*T.O. is a cancer… you do what you can to REMOVE that from your body .. not invite it in. Our Coach has already said he WONT bring T.O. in

*Peppers is not needed, his price tag will be too high. He wants to be a LB in a 3-4 also I believe? We pay thru the nose for our existing DE’s. I think I will stop at 4 reasons to not bring him here.

*LT is going to cost us too much. I still cant understand why this rumor wont go away. It scares me and I wish Coach would standup and say NO like he did for T.O.
