Mini FA Update/Myth Debunking

From Brian Allee-Walsh's post on Jabari Greer's signing (nola.com/times-pic):

Saints officials remain interested in trying to sign a free safety in free agency, either Darren Sharper or Gerald Sensabaugh, both of whom visited with Saints officials earlier this week.

...

In other developments, Coach Sean Payton denied reports that the Saints are interested in running back Rudi Johnson and no visit has been scheduled for cornerback Shawn Springs, who is meeting today with Philadelphia Eagles officials.

Had anyone heard that bit about Rudi Johnson?  Where are we going with the FS position?  I guess we won't know if we made offers to Sharper or Sensabaugh until after the fact...

The more time that passes

The more anxious I get about them signing Sharper. I really want them to sign Sharper…

Thanks Deuce!

Rudi's been talking crap around the league

rotoworld.com:

Coach Sean Payton denied a report Wednesday that the Saints were interested in free agent Rudi Johnson.
If Payton had confirmed interest, it would’ve been the first we’d heard of Rudi this offseason. The 29-year-old finished 2008 with a 3.1 YPC average.

Free agent Rudi Johnson blasted the Lions’ organization on Sirius NFL Radio Thursday, calling them “years away” from winning.
He may be right, but they’d be even further away if they re-signed Rudi. “I would say years away from being a competitive team.” he said. “If you go 0-16 it’s not just the players, it’s not just the coaches, it’s not just the organization. It’s everything from top to bottom. I wish them the best of luck.”
