Saints to release FB Karney

From Pat Y at ESPN. He says he heard this from a league source. So far, the TImes-Pic isn't saying anything about it. I can't believe they would just cut him without having an option already signed.

I’m just gonna copy and paste what i wrote in the other thread about karney. i’m pretty sure the other is dead.

but we all know that. That’s why i’m hoping these visits are looking for a runner type. I wouldn’t blame Reggie’s foolish running on Karney, lead blocker is useless if you don’t follow him and dance around like a twat instead. Reggie just doesn’t seem to understand that Karney is there to get him into open space, where he can use his quickness. Reggie wants to dance as soon as they hand it to him, instead of hitting the hole, getting in space, then juking those DBs.

Karney might not be leveling fools like back in the day but that isn’t much his fault either. He did that so well with Deuce because Deuce was always right behind him. When you wanted to bring Deuce down, you had to go through Karney first, and thats how you get knocked on your ass. These other guys don’t run like that, dont think they’re used to a lead blocker.

All i’m saying is these other guys might be better at running the ball and catching, but we’re having problems moving piles, not catching balls. Our Backs aren’t gonna move any piles without Karney hitting it first."

What would truly suck is...

if Mike has not as of yet been alerted to this, sees this on ESPN, and has to wait to hear it from the Saints. I’ll believe it when the Times-Pic reports it. If they sign a new FB in the near future, they may just release Mike shortly after. I always thought Pay-Loo was happy with him. He blocks very well and can catch. He’s just not very fast and has been stuffed at the line a few times. If this does happen, I’ll be a little shocked.

Go Saints!!!! Deuce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
