Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Brings up some good points as to why we might go OLB instead of FS or CB... somethings that just didn't occur to me.

I disagree. Making sh*t up is not good analysis.

The author is in the very small minority on his 3 statements:

this team has very poor OLB’s currently in place
I think Cushing is a 3 down OLB
(Jenkins & Davis) still on the board. However, I think that would be foolish.

Not credible.

OLB in general...

I posted it not because of Cushing, who I thik is probably the best OLB on the board @ 14, but because I think the FO really can’t afford to but that much more money into the secondary. Matthews is good, but something in my head is saying if he couldn’t get on the feild until the last few games of his college career and couldn’t beat out Keith Rivers, who I was never really impressed with, he might not be the right pick for us. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an athletic FREAK… but that doesn’t always transfer to a Football freak.

I think Cushing has the potential to be a 3 down LB. I think with the aggresive scheme the GW will employ, Cushing will often be on the attack, which I think suits our needs @ OLB. I think he is a def upgrade over Shanle.

MJenkins would be a solid pick, but with the buisness side of things, I just don’t see us going there. I would certainly NOT be upset if we did however.

McKenzie's gone and David could be cut if we draft Jenkins

The money wouldn’t be that big of an issue especially if Jenkins becomes a safety. And Fujita is good.

i think those are all good points...

but even though we cut MM, we still have 2nd rd $$$ tied up in Porter and Young, and starter $$$ tied up in Greer and David. Granted we could cut David or restructure his deal.

Not saying that I 100% agree with everything he says, just that I think the $$$ tied up in secondary is a valid point.
