History shows that then-New Orleans Saints coach Mike Ditka miscalculated dreadfully when he traded all his picks to get Ricky Williams
Here's Duncan's piece on the Ricky Williams trade that we already read a version of last week on someone else's blog.

boom rec'd it
All true.
Ditka is a bonehead.
You know something is wrong when a player does a post game interview with his helmet on. Ricky said that Paxil helped him quite a lot and I’m glad that works for him. Too bad he wasn’t diagnosed back then.

Everytime I See Ditka on TV as an NFL Analyst...
I feel like puking. I don’t understand where he has the credentials to be an analyst. He is an idiot and really is off the wall when it comes to his opinions and predictions about football. He is a blowhard and just tries to bully anybody he is across from. It was so obvious when he was the coach of the Saints that he was inept. He should hand over his superbowl ring from coaching with the Bears to Buddy Ryan. He was the coach responsible for the Chicago Superbowl.
Lot of truth in that, Phil
Wikipedia:
Mike’s childhood name was Mike Dyczko. His father was one of three brothers of a Ukrainian 1 family in the coal mining and steel manufacturing area in Western Pennsylvania.
I assumed he was Polish.
He’s a Hall of Fame tight end and classic old school type player. And that worked for him as a coach for a while, motivating the players (AP coach of the year 1985, 1988). But higher level planning and decision making? Ditka is no Bill Walsh, I’ll just leave it at that.
