At least Ralph puts Ricky Williams in perspective
Plus, Ditka giving up the entire draft didn’t even really hurt the Saints long term because two years later they were winning their first playoff game.

Ralph's schtick
seems to be pessimism. He treats the Saints as though they’re a circus, and the best you can hope from them is high comedy. I wonder if he really likes football. Like Beanie Wells. GAAAAAA!!!!

...Not far off.
Roomed with this guy for a summer. One of the biggest sports fans I’ve ever met… Also, and more to your point Mtn, he used to do a bit of stand up comedy in NOLA. More passionate about humor than sports, for sure.

This sentiment sums up my feelings about the trade...
Back then I was all for it because Ditka was horrible at drafting anyway and would have just wasted the picks. Do Rob Kelly and Danny Wuerffel ring a bell?
Troy Davis, etc., need I move on?
Then I found a link to Dave’s post last draft that had a link to the NFL Network video bit on the Top 10 Worst Draft Trades…my favorite part is that post-game interview with Iron Mike:
“Who’s injured? Talk to the trainer!”
“What do you care? You’d be in a bad mood, too, if you were 2-7!!”
Grrrrr! Mike has bite!
