Saints Fans...Meet Your New Cornerback
As far as Saints fans are concerned, day one of the draft is officially over! Fortunately, Malcolm Jenkins was still available when the Saints were on the clock with the fourteenth pick. More fortunately, the Saints were smart enough to pull the trigger and take Jenkins. Judging by the brand marks on his arm I can tell that he's a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He will join fraternity brothers Jason David and Leigh Torrence (I believe) in the Saints secondary.
Feel free to use this thread to talk about how much you love...or hate...the Saints drafting of Malcolm Jenkins.

I voted one for highest level of happy, but I don't think that's how the scale works
Malcolm Jenkins is gonna make Dave Waymer look like Lito Sheppard.

Wish they could have traded down… but oh well. If they can’t trade down this is who I wanted them to get. They may need LB help but not anywhere near as badly as they need a ballhawk safety or a shutdown corner, and this guy may well have the option to be either. Maybe he flames out, of course, could happen, but he was the best chance this year for what they need.

I give it a 10
not because he’s the second coming or anything, but because he was the best player to fill our needs – and Payloo didn’t take the crazy bait and draft a RB.
Happy, happy, joy, joy

I say 8
until we can see him work in the NFL and how he makes the transformation I want to curb my elation just a bit. Too many college superstars end up being average in the pros so for now I shall stay cautiously optomistic

I'm o.k. with this....
Like most I would have loved to see us trade down but Jenkins is the best fit right there.
I feel fortunate that Al Davis isn’t our team owner. What a f-ing tool.

Best pick
Since Carl Adrian Arrington.
We have been drafting well this year and last year. I dig it.

I hope..
We trade into the third round and try to get Shonn Greene (RB) or Asher Allen (CB). I think that getting even one of those guys will put us over the top in the South.

O..
And I voted a 10. We needed a difference making safety, from what I’ve seen on him he should fill that role superbly.

I voted 9
We lost the 1 because you mentioned JD and him in the same articule as brothers.
There will be NO tainting the new kid by referring to him and JD as anything other then teammates.
God you scared me linking them like that.

chuckle.
Come on now, even frat boys occasionally have a “brother” they’d prefer to disown… or worse…

10
because the Saints finally attempted to address need! This dramatically goes against their strategy of drafting the best athlete available and then plugging them in randomly.
