Potential Drug Use?

NFLDraftBible
is reporting that Florida's Percy Harvin and Illinois CB Vontae Davis
also tested positive for marijuana at the combine, and that USC
linebackers Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews tested positive for steroids.

I guess I want Jenkins now?  I had previously thought I would love us to take Clay Matthews, but this is a big question mark if it is true.

Now I'm just trying to make the post long enough to share with all of you

steroids = better player

Meh it’s just pot. Rickey Williams and Randy Moss could still play… when they wanted. If they’re still motivated weed’s no big deal.

No problem with the weed,

but the steroids have me concerned. Needing steroids at a young age to compete might not bode well for a career with steroids.

Crap

I meant to say "a career without steroids.

Looks to be more than a rumor

…in fact, it looks to be a potential lawsuit.

Pro Football Talk has a story quoting Matthews’ agent, in which he denies the report and implies that NFL Draft Bible had better sanitize their site:

"Further, neither Clay nor our office has received notification of any positive test, whether for steroids or any banned substance. I also have been informed by an attorney at the NFL League Office that they have not received notification from the Independent Administrator of any Draft-eligible players testing positive for steroids during the pre-employment drug testing conducted at this year’s Combine, and likewise, that they have not informed the member NFL clubs of any drug testing results. Govern yourself accordingly."

What’s more, Pete Carroll has jumped into the fray:

“These rumors are absolutely false,” Carroll said. “If they were found positive, Clay and Cush would have been notified three weeks ago, which they weren’t and all of the NFL teams would have been notified too, which they weren’t.”

So it looks as though Matthews and Cushing are innocent, and NFL Draft Bible just stepped on their you-know-what.

PFT being quoted

PFT being quoted as proof that a story is not true?

This isn't an anonymous source

It’s Matthews’ agent. The full text of the letter is there.

Of course, PFT could have faked the whole thing…but my beef with the media isn’t that they fake things, but that they use anonymous sources that can never be verified. When one side relies on an anonymous source, and the other shows an extensive quotation from a named source with inside knowledge, I tend to believe in the latter…no matter who they are.

That's

why you have to verify information independently, you can’t rely on one source.

Is it August yet?

I guess

Carroll is through throwing his players under the bus (i.e. Sanchez) and is back to defending them. What a d-bag.

I don't think the guy on the right is even Brian Cushing

He’s wearing an earring. I haven’t seen another photo of Cushing where he wears an earring. This just looks like some ’roided up punk that someone stuck on his blog claiming to be Cushing.

I'm

certainly no Adonis, but the one on the left hardly looks like an NFL linebacker, I think I would’ve taken roids too.
