"But if you're talking just stats, Morten has more meaningful stats than say Ray Guy, with all his game-winning kicks and career points and so on. I certainly think Morten Andersen should be the next specialist that goes in.''

I don't think they choose a team at all
Go look up Jim Taylor in the Hall of Fame. It says “1958-1966 Green Bay Packers, 1967 New Orleans Saints.” So technically, the Saints are already represented.
