Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

"Much like a school house bully, the Saints have been targeting the "nerdy kids" of the NFL (Lions, Chiefs, Raiders, and others). Although lacking many trademarks of the bullies arsenal, such as wedgies, swirlies, and verbal harassment, the Saints have badgered their way to mediocre records at the expense of the league's worst teams."

This guy isn't being disrespectful--he's right. But losing to better teams is what mediocrity is all about. At least the Saints have been consistent.

This isn't anything to squirm about

it boils down to more their offense vs our defense… we rarely get stops/ta’s and unless their offense itself blunders and inhibits their own drive it is unlikely that we can overcome the situation. The ideal situation vs a good team would be a score for a score and so on… how many games did we lose last season by the margin of 3 points or less? Regardless the guy is correct but wrong at the same time. He fails to state how many teams we play with a winning record and “bullies” don’t pick fights they think they are gonna lose.

I love to see these lame analysis’ based on one statistic that upon first look seem legit then you realize they are only emphasizing one aspect to create a story. It’s easier to write a story based upon nothing than it is to actually do some research and find substance.

I wonder what the Saints’ win/loss record is against teams that wear black socks versus teams that wear white ones? I think we are probably be dominant against the weaker “white sock” teams, but that our overall poor field vision would hinder us against elite “black sock” units. Maybe I’m comparing apples to oranges here…But it occurs to me that context must count for something. I’ve never really considered the brand of “League Bullies” for the Saints though.

The Black Sox

would defeat us handily in an Iowa cornfield, but I think we could take them in the Dome.
