New Orleans Saints cut veteran long snapper Kevin Houser - New Orleans Saints Beat
Here we go, ladies and gentlemen! Some legit Saints news - Houser is a gone pecan!! Whoda thunk it would happen like this? Is Kyle that much better than Houser? It certainly wasn't a youth move - Kyle's older than Houser. What do you think?

This stinks!
This reminds me of when Payton released Carney in an attempt to upgrade the kicker position. We all know how that turned out. Houser has been reliable and consistent for years. When did he ever snap a bad ball? If it ain’t broke, why try to fix it? Why did they sour on him? I’ve got a bad feeling about this. If we see a game-losing kicking or punting snap this season, I’m gonna be pissed.
Go Saints!!!! Deuce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

(hey Satch!) Another Haslett era purge
Rotoworld.com:
New Orleans gave Houser a five-year extension in winter of 2005, but soured on him last season. The 32-year-old had been the longest-tenured Saint.

I've got a word or two
To say about the things that you do.

Right!
It does seem like Payton is just further trying to cover the team with his own scent. There’s nothing about this that makes sense to me. Houser has been Mr. Automatic forever. I sense a few special team blunders a comin’ this season. The first time I see a snap go over the punter’s head and into the backfield, I’m gonna rip Payton a new one.
By the way, I’m very glad my fellow “Haslett guy conspiracy theorist” is back. The place just didn’t feel the same without you.
Go Saints!!!! Deuce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

And then there were six
Players remaining from the Haslett era:
Jammal Brown
Charles Grant
Devery Henderson
Jamar Nesbit
Will Smith
Jon Stinchcomb
If I was a betting man, I think I’d set the over/under at three by this time next year.
Anyone want to take guesses on the next to go?
