More Disrespect (Aaarghhh!)
And so the disrespect continues. The latest from sporting news. In a list of the top 25 impact players in '09, Drew Brees is ranked 13. The Offensive Player of the Year is ranked 13th. Guess who is ahead? DeMarcus Ware, who is a linebacker, is ranked 4th overall. Andre Johnson, a wide receiver, is ranked 8th overall. Reggie Wayne, another WR, is ranked 10. Shawne Meriman, who didn't even play last year, is projected to be the 11th most impact player. I mean, "What the heck?"

Frustration?
No frustration here. We want it to stay this way. We want the Saints to fly under the radar. We want the rest of the league to underestimate them. We want our team to prepare this offseason like they have something to prove. I’ll save my frustration for when the MSM finally figures out that the 2009 Saints are a team to be feared and respected. It’s only at that point that I’ll get worried.
Go Saints!!!! Deuce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

13th out of 1,696 players league-wide?
OMG, how dare they rank Drew among the top 0.8% overall players in his profession, instead of the top 0.2% where he belongs. I haven’t seen a travesty of this magnitude since Adrian Zemed replaced Deney Terrio as the host of “Dance Fever”.

Well, when you consider he was one of only three quarterbacks to make the list at all, I kinda figure its not quite so bad. Still wrong, however for a couple of reasons.
1) Wrong to have him that far below the other two tho. Either or both of them could very easily struggle quite a bit this year, especially during early-season adjustments.
2) Wrong to have him below Ed Reed (old, lost his DC, lost half his team, and more), Andre Johnson (can’t stay healthy), and Merriman (no way to know if he’ll be back to full speed either).
Oh well. Hopefully it will give us some more bulletin board material. We do seem to be collecting quite a pile of it already… and it’s only June. I think Peyton will have to go shopping at Home Depot for a few extra boards to pin everything up come September…

I don't think anyone is using that as bulletin board material
While I do see your point, but I don’t think it’s that much of a travesty. First off, Ware is an animal, as a matter of fact, everyone on the list above him are real impact players. Whether or not they have MORE imapct than Drew is debateable, but not a clear cut case. I wouldn’t sweat this.
