These breakout wide receivers will reward patience

Saints WR Robert Meachem — He’s a good athlete and has the talent to make it, but Meachem hasn’t been consistent enough to date. That should change in his third season and with a great opportunity in New Orleans. He’s in the best passing offense in the NFL and finally showed Drew Brees that he can be trusted. Watch the Week 17 game against the Panthers and you can see a team that started to run plays for Meachem and give him a chance to use his natural abilities. He gained 24.1 yards per catch in limited duty and had a 20-yard TD run against the Lions in Week 16. From what people have told me, it has been as much about Meachem’s preparation as anything that has held him back, but with more focus and a better work ethic, he should live up to his first-round stature.
