MEGATRON & the Revenge of the Fallen.....

Sorry Saints fans... I know you all have big expectations this upcoming season, and rightfully so. I have your beloved Saints making the Super Bowl myself. However, being that your Defense is somewhat new with personnel and coordinator, i envision CALVIN JOHNSON DOMINATING week 1 and the Lions pulling off the upset. Sounds crazy i know, but keep in mind that this Lions team is completely different than last years team and they are extremely hungry. Also, CJ led the league in TDs last year with 5 different QBs throwing to him. If he gets the ball early in the game, its going to be loooong day for the Saints secondary. Especially if the rookie Jenkins gets the assignment if covering him. I dont see that happening though, Gregg Williams is smarter than that. The good news is, Darren Sharper has been a known Lion killer with GB & Minnesota over the years. However, CALVIN is an impossible cover, especiallyu against a defense with new players, coordinator and scheme. How i see it - MEGATRON goes off and the Lions steal the show in week 1 of the NFL......

we know they're much improved

it’s not the offense that we think will lose the game for them but more so the defense. unless the saints players/coaches themselves write this off as a win before it starts then we should win that game easy. at least 2 tds. CJ is a beast but Sharper as our safety along with Porter(if he plays like he did before he got hurt last year) should be able to contain him ok. Training camp is for getting things together as far as personell and learning packages and schemes. don’t expect the saints D to come out looking like alot of rookies. Thx for the SB prediction! I think CJ will have a good game. 60+yards and 1 TD but alot more ppl are going to have to show up besides him. Remember, the team you don’t want to get into a shootout with is the Saints. We score like crazy…means #1 offense. I figure we will make the top 12 defenses this year if Gwilliams if 1/2 as good as we think he will be.

Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D

Sorry bro, Calvins will have 60 yards by halftime of this game. I dont think Saints secondary will be able to contain him whatsoever. However, it will be just as hard to stop Mr.Brees. I think it will much closer than most think…

Well you’re part right, it will be closer than most people think. But then, most people think it’s going to be another 42-10 blowout like last year. So even a 35-21 game or something like that is a significant improvement.

i agree

it’ll be much closer than last year. I’ll say the 35-21 prediction sounds about right too. It won’t be close at the end but It will definetly be better than last year.

Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D

Why do you call Calvin Johnson Megatron?

Is it something obvious that I am missing?

MEGATRON

He was nicknamed that by Roy Williams who played with Detroit couple seasons ago. He named him that for his size and speed. he is a beast. if youve seen the movie transformers, megatron is the leader of the bad guys but is way bigger than everyone else.

MEGATRON

If you still dont get it, tune in to week 1 Lions@Saints on September 13. Youll know exactly why he is called that……

If he can't turn into a gun...

then I’m not going to “get” it.

by FuSoYa on Jul 16, 2009 10:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Maybe he'll turn into a stretcher

and help carry the rest of his teammates off the field. :D

How will a hobbled Culpepper

behind a below average offensive line get it to anyone besides MEGATRON. They’re better but still a couple years off, and the lions defense won’t be able to stop the Saints. The Lions offense isn’t good enough to put up the 30 points they’re defense will give up.

not happening...

The Saints aren’t losing to the Lions at home… other than Louis Delmas and Grady Jackson, what defensive player can help slow this offense? Plus, if Staford is QB, GW will have a field day with running aggresive blitzes on a rookie QB.

they also added anthoney henry but there is no way the Lions take the Saints in week one or any other week for that matter

If Calvin Johnson is Megatron than Drew Brees is OFFENSE-IMUS PRIME!! He will torch the Lions secondary and be pulled after one drive in the 4th quarter.

I guess the Lions could win...

but I doubt they will. But, considering the Lions record last year, regardless of the changes, I think you should be chirping a little less… that was a baaaaaad year

Been to the NOLA.com Saints page lately?

A clown car full of rabid Lions fans squatted on that site for like a week. Got pretty ugly. It was funny though, as it was all coming from the most prolific losers in NFL history. You read some of those guys and you gotta admire that fan base. And that’s coming from a Saints fan.
