Vick can once again play in the NFL, if a team is desperate enough to roll the dice on him.

I don't know all the politics on this, Humane Society, PETA, etc....

…but I had decided privately, in my own head: Banned for life. I imagined if it had been the same charges against Jeremy Shockey and came to that conclusion. Too much trouble for the NFL. “Dog Killer” banners at Vick games… It’ll be a circus. In a bad way.

Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her?

And on top of that

…I hate Vick as a player. I am sick of the constant refrain of what an exciting player he is…he’s a dull player. He plays like he’s still on the JV team. Run around a lot, get sacked, chunk the ball as far downfield as possible, incomplete, run around some more, chunk the ball as far downfield as possible, interception, run around some more, break some tackles, jump over guys, get sacked, chunk the ball as far downfield as possible, touchdown (“Only Michael Vick can make plays like that!”), run around some more, get sacked, fumble, repeat ad nauseum. If I wanted to watch that kind of football, I could go to any public park on Saturday and watch pickup games.

 !*&#%@ Goodell…

This is OUR year!

If that was ALL he ever did, the Fartcons wouldn’t have made it to the NFC championship game that year… A few years later he had a crappy line that gave him no protection… would you just stand there and take a beating?

I don’t think he was that great. But to claim that he was horrible based on a few years in which his O:L was horrid and his receivers were worse doesn’t make him horrible.

He “was” fast. And he beat the Packers at Lambeau in January. And he’s ambidextrous, can throw pretty well with either hand (though not accurately). But it’s over. UFL time.

Well, the cowboy's name was Jingo.

Ugh.

I’ve already heard a lot of comments about people boycotting the NFL over this. I know a lot of dog lovers, and they are NOT happy (to put it mildly) with this decision. My hope is that no team is interested and he fades away. I can’t imagine why anyone would want him. He never impressed me.

Good luck, Mikey

He’s a talented buffoon who deserves another shot at the big show. He’s done his time. That’s that. Let the free market decide if he actually GETS a second chance. I think he should play for Miami. They already like the wildcat out there. Maybe Vick can bring the QB option to the NFL. That’d be cute.

WHY??

I´m about as sick of hearing about Vick as I am about Favre.

question

i don’t get how vick gets 2 years for killing dogs and stallworth gets 30 days for killing a human? i know the circumstances were very different, but sometimes i get the feeling that people are more pro animals than humans. i don’t know.. just throwing it out there.

I read some other post

that explained it in a way that cleared that very same question up for me, though it doesn’t make me feel any better about it. Vick’s crimes were federal crimes, and he tried very hard to avoid punishment for them, whereas Stallworth’s crime was addressed in a county court, and he called the police at the scene, and payed off the victim’s family substantially and immediately. He therefore expressed remorse more believably I guess than Vick ever did. He still killed a person while driving drunk in the morning in a city in which he neither lived nor worked, but he was really sorry, and I think the guy was jaywalking too.
