Nice feature!
I like these, and would like more of these during Training Camp…
THANKS to Dave and Kenny.

Kenny,
Sean must have treated you bad. It is pretty obvious that you don’t like the guy. No coach is perfect, including Sean but if they stay healthy, we will have a great season. It’s not all his fault.

I didn't take that from Kenny's comments
Seemed pretty objective to me.
Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her?

REC this !!!
C’mon, man. It’s Kenny Wilkerson. You are all fortunate to get a semi-personal audience with the man.
What I like about Kenny is, if he doesn’t qualify a statement (“I think…”, “I’d be surprised…”, “I doubt…”), then it’s money. Gold. Fact. Or as close as we’re going to get until the truth eventually becomes obvious. (M-E, I know what you’re thinking and don’t EVEN type it. Kenny knows things that we don’t know.)
Sorry I missed the live chat. Probably better for all that I did. But thank you Kenny, excellent material and pretty good questions too. And thank you, Dave. I enjoyed it and I’d like to see more.
Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her?

Are you joking?
No, the sad thing is, you aren’t.
I read it anyway. Even stopped clocks are right twice a day.

FB, why don’t you just type it out instead of remarking condescendingly about how sad you are about me and making clock analogies that don’t make any sense?

Because I’d spend an hour listing all the things I think he’s out in left-field on. And my clock analogy makes plenty of sense if you think about it for half a second. How many times a day does a analog clock read out the correct time when it has no power and sits on the same time 24 hours a day? Twice. If its on, say, 3:14 then at 3:14 AM and at 3:14 PM its correct. The rest of the time it’s wrong. Same with a digital clock blinking 12:00 constantly. At midnight and noon its correct, the rest of the time its wrong. Same as this guy. Every now and then even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
But here, allow me to be even more explicit. I think the guy is a bitter, rude, angry moron who, aside from the welcome lack of profanity, makes Hap look smart and polite. I think he’s got a personal animus for Peyton and is doing all he can to get revenge for being fired from WWL. He might, actually, some of the time be right, but his bitter revenge-seeking and his complete lack of objectivity get annoying fast. I actually think Peyton has made quite a few mistakes, but you know what? So have I. So have you. If Peyton learns from his mistakes — and so far he does at least seem to be TRYING to do so — then that’s good enough for me. And when it comes to injuries I support him 110%. Which means I’m never going to agree with Kenny, but frankly I consider that a badge of honor.
That clear enough for you?
OH and PS, my “are you serious” was in response to “rec this”. Barf. No, I’ll read it, as I said even people who have opinions I disagree with vehemently are still worth reading at least occasionally. But rec it? Not a chance.

not enough for me, pal
You didn’t quote a single word Kenny said here as a complaint. Not one. You’re basing your view on prior experiences. You know what you are? An anti-Wilk.-ite. For shame. And explain the clock thing again, not quite sure what you’re getting at.
I think Kenny knows what time it is.

Loved the frankness
and agree with much of what was said. I’ve been saying that BOTH Shanle and Fujita should be upgraded for the last couple of years. I also think that Jammal Brown is vastly overrated as a LT. Ferguson was the pick in ’06. We would be so much better off right now.

But I keep reading in different mags that the Jets are still waiting for Brick to play up to his draft slot...

Kenny Wilkerson: "Let me know in the comment section if you like me doing these Q&A's and would like to see more. "
2 recs, 3 positive comments and 1 insult. He asked for some feedback. It would be appropriate to show some kind of response out of respect for Dave, at least.
Even “I don’t care for Kenny’s point of view, it’s not to my taste” or “Not interested in Kenny’s axe grinding” would be better than silence.
Don’t make me turn this place upside down. Let’s see some comments.

Stop! You're scaring me!
Kenny sounds like a guy who’s been around the Saints’ franchise a little too long. Having said that, I do like hearing a less rosy opinion from a guy who’s been a voice around the Saints for a long time. I agree with his “.500 until proven otherwise” philosophy, and about Brown. Everyone hates Shanle(as a player, I mean), so that’s not so daring. I don’t get his point on Brooks. I don’t see how Brooks could be asking for a prohibitively expensive contract, but I’m not often hanging around front office honcho’s so I’ll give it to Kenny that he knows what he’s talking about. I also didn’t understand what he meant about Karney, Deuce, and “voices in the locker room”. But he’s spot on about Grant. In summation, I’ll say, lighten up, Kenny, you sourpuss. But you might be right, about a lot of things…

Where did he mention Brooks?
I took “voices in the locker room” to mean anyone who did not speak exactly along the Coach Sean Payton line. Which, I think, is a concept we should all become better familiar with.

[Comment From DunePatrol]
What’s the story with Derrick Brooks and why aren’t the Saints looking at him?
7:17
Kenny Wilkerson: Money. Money. Money. Money. And, oh yeah, before I forget…monday.

Kenny Wilkerson: I mean, money.
Regarding the “locker room voices” thing, I just never heard that was a problem with either of those players. That’s stupid, if that’s the reason for those players’ treatment, but I’ve only ever heard that Karney was “passionate and high-spirited” in the locker room, and that Deuce was a consummate team player.

I think that was Kenny’s point. I think Kenny is saying that both Deuce AND Karney were TOO good at being team players. They had their own opinions, were there before Payton and had a voice in the locker room. And that, apparently, was more than Payton wanted.

agreed.
alot of ppl have said that they both had a stronger pull in the locker room than Payton and if they spoke in a way that didn’t agree with Payton the other players might follow Deuce or Karney instead of Payton. He didn’t like that so he got rid of em. But, idk if anyone knows that for sure except for Payton. I think it’s an intelligent speculation at the moment.

I think Satch said it first: They’re both Haslett era players.

Ahh, Now I get it
what a d-bag, then. Payton, I mean. Still, it seems like Evans may actually be an improvement over Karney. I don’t know, but I hope he can block and push a lineman at least.

i liked it!
thought it was good. i like to have the perspective of someone who has been around the team for some time and gotten some inside information a time or two. I agree with the Shanle part but not Fujita. I think he is a good player. I won’t say he’s great but he’s good and consistent. If we had the WLB locked up with a player of Vilma’s calliber then I’d maybe consider upgrading Fujita but I’d leave him alone untill you had other things locked up, like we could use a DE to replace Grant permanently and if Pressley doesn’t impress this season then another DT to play beside Ellis. Don’t mess with Fujita untill then. Yeah, Brown has seemed to be a little overrated.

Ive gotta agree with Friar Bob on some of these issues...
I know Stujo was looking for examples with this Q&A and I would say the fact that Wilknson singled out the letting go of Karney because he had a leadership role instead of another plausible reason (Evans can catch the ball out of the backfield)…
Kenny Wilkerson: No. I don’t think so. I don’t think the problem with Karney was his play on the field. I think the problem with Karney was that he had a voice in the locker room. And history has shown that anyone with a voice in the locker room doesn’t last long around here. Case in point: Deuce McAllister.
I think those are some heavy accusations to be throwing around, don’t you? I’m not saying either of these explainations is right or wrong, but to me, Kenny seems like he has an axe to grind. Is this Q&A better than the last interview? yes.
I guess having this is better than nothing, but I’m not sold on objectivity.. at least as far as Payton is concerned.

I like the Q&A. I think it’s great. I agree with most of his ideas, but I do think he is a little bitter. I think we’d be crazy not to try to do that more often. He does know more than we do. So just like any other information we get, listen to it, consider the source and other factors, then draw your own conclusion. This is where we discuss our opinions, and the opinions of others. If he didn’t give his opinion then we wouldn’t be talking about it right now. SO, even if you "think the guy is a bitter, rude, angry moron " -Friarbob, you could have the decency, and/or common courtesy to not sling insults around. No one calls you names, so be a big boy and don’t call other people names. If you noticed we don’t attack people around here, we attack ideas. Feel free to disagree, but don’t get personal.
