Around SBN: The End Of Sabanball: Details, Barbarians, And Precision

The Saints placed Dan Campbell on IR today. That HAS to be a career ender, he's 33. Nice pickup, PayLoo. Anyway, hey Mark! Keep the phone charged, we know you can at least make it to week 1 without getting hurt.

Do the Saints have enough tight ends, or do we need Mark?

LOL!

Well, at least Mark could last longer than this guy. And with Mark, we’d be getting those cool “Soup of the Day” segments from him two or three times a week. Yeah, I’m all for Mark coming back. The season just won’t be the same without watching him make a catch and then wondering if he’ll be able to get up off the turf. He was considered to be the best run-blocking TE on the team last season. This leaves the team with only four TE’s: Shockey, Miller, Dinkins, and Ortega. I’d like to see one more TE in camp, but it may not be necessary as these four will probably lock in those roster spots. How many regular season TE’s did they carry last year? Four? Three? It might have been different from game to game.

Too bad about the other Campbell, though. Dan, we hardly knew ye. I see they also waived G Joe McMahon and signed free agent G Nathan Bennett. You can never have enough depth on the O-line, I suppose.

"He has got a good ol' boy sense of humor, but he has also got a good ol' boy sense of kick you in the ass, too,"--Gregg Williams describing Bill Johnson. The D WILL ROCK THIS YEAR!

They typically carry three, sometimes four. Ortega has been cut and re-signed more times than George Jetson. And I agree, Campbell seemed heavy into the theatrics on just about every play he made as a Saint. Kinda reminded me of Rod Tidwell. “I’m fine, bro. Lemme just lie here for a minute.”

How much room we got....

on the IR list?

Just get the D going!

Shockey, Miller, and Dinkins

were probably the ones going to make it, anyway.

I agree

Campbell would have been lucky to stick, even if healthy.
