NFL Justice??

I just ran across an article where the Jets DE Shaun Ellis was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy. For ONE game!!! From the article:

Ellis Article

New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis was suspended without pay Monday for the team's regular-season opener and fined $100,000 by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

His violation?

The 31-year-old Ellis was arrested in November and charged with possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without insurance after being pulled over by police in Hanover, N.J., a few miles from the team's training facility in Florham Park.

One game and a fine? For criminal offenses? And Garrett Hartley gets FOUR games for taking a pep pill??  Charles Grant and Will Smith get four games for taking something they had no idea contained a banned substance?  Is it no wonder why the NFL catches so much flak over how they run their substance abuse policy?

The only thing I can think is, it was possession. Not ingestion. No positive pee test. “I was only holding for a friend, man.”

Maybe true.....

but it’s still BS that Hartley gets worse for what he did.

It's BS

…that Harley gets popped at all. What you do in the offseason should be your own business, so long as the drugs are legal. Taking a pep pill during a long drive in the offseason isn’t going to give you any kind of unfair edge during a game in the fall. That’s obvious to every retarded jackass in the world but one.

"Man, these fans are off the charts."

two, ass's ass

This is not what is in the labor agreement on which Smiley’s contract is based.

You guys need to get over your agonizing over what is right or wrong. They signed the contracts. The contract says you can’t take speed while under contract. He took it, he got caught, and he’s still fat. Take a lap, Smiley!

i think adderol

is a prescribed drug. then, it’d be illegal for him to take it w/out a prescription. Although, i would say that it’s a bit harsh that the guy got 4 games and having weed on you gets 1 game.

Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D

Let me get this straight

Drunk driving causing death: Less than a month in prison, 1 year suspension
Organizing dogfight: 23 months in prison, 4 games suspension.
Dropping StarCaps or Pep pills: No jail, 4 games suspension.
Weed: probably no jail, 1 game suspension.
Pats videogate: Small tap on fingers and no suspensions….

Did I hear credibility? Thought so….

Just get the D going!

it's all crap

i thought we had some kind of behavior policy in the nfl. Just having weed in your possession or going to jail should get you at least the same amount of time as the Starcaps thing. The jail should get more than that. The weed is like the same thing as the Starcaps. The guy taking weed can lie and say he was holding it or something like that while the Starcaps guy say it was to lose weight and didn’t know they couldn’t use it. Just a poor showing of consistency.

Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D
