Fight, Dashes and Hot Weather!
Nice read about Saints 2nd practice with Texans...
You knew a fight was bound to break out. Yestersdays article mentioned who cordial everything was, lol, knew that wouldn't last long. Good to hear Brees is back on field. Reggie has been admitting he needs to quit dancing and it looks like he's trying to remedy that. Even PT said, "Reggie is actually hitting the holes a lot harder than he used to, and that's a big improvement by him". Hope I can catch the next preseason game some how some way. Geaux Saints!

I don't get it
he says he dances too much, PT says he is hitting the holes harder, and our guys are saying he is hitting the holes too fast for our OL????

all comes down to...
3 points all say one thing… hes fast
- Dancing to much – Juking when he could power forward.
Much like PT does .. gets him that extra yard per carry by falling forward not going out of bounds. - So when hes saying now that hes hitting the hole harder.. means that hes waiting for a hole to BE THERE then hitting it. Vs. heading to the outside before a hole showed up

it's not that he's too fast.
It’s that he’s not being patient. We’re not saying his speed is the issue, it’s that he isnt waiting until there is hole to use it. Run through the hole not to the hole type issue.

Tay - there's a website that livestreams games
a bunch of us were watching it last week – artietv.com or something…
check back into the open thread from the Bengals game I think the link was listed there. I’ll be back at that site for Saturday’s game.

thnks Hans...
Cuz it sucks being in LA, no team and we get some of the most random games.
Don't worry I got your back cuz...

i went back and dug up the link
http://www.atdhe.net/8429/watch-cincinnati-bengals-vs-new-orleans-saints
so if you try this Saturday night and swap out “cincinnati-bengals-vs-new-orleans-saints” for
“new-orleans-saints-vs.-houston-texans” or something like that, you’ll have it.
And if you’re so inclined, join us here on that game’s open thread, too! It’s kinda lotsa fun. I did it last season for a few games, most notably the Vikings and Bears games and although the games sucked in their outcomes, I enjoyed myself the whole time…

I get a kick
out of the Reggie excuses. Not so much the reasoning, which is often times sound, but rather the “he’s finally come to the realization” angle. Like such conclusions are only reached on an annual basis, not week-to-week, when both players and their position coaches are reviewing game film. “You know, Reggie, I think you might need to hit the holes a little harder.” “Coach, you may be right, but can’t we hold off on that theory until training camp? I would hate to make too many adjustments all at once and no longer be an effective inside runner.”

Um, dude, please tell me you aren’t self-delusional enough to not realize there are time YOU haven’t wanted to listen to your critics (no matter what the reason), and then later found out they were right all along?
Because you haven’t wanted to listen at times, and then at time you were proven right all along. But there have also been times you wouldn’t listen and then later you were proven wrong. It happens to everybody. Is it REALLY that hard to think that that MIGHT be the case here with Bush?
I’m not saying necessarily that it is. Just that it’s possible. Is it REALLY that hard to wrap your brain around that POSSIBILITY?

Sure, it’s a possibility. It was also a possibility following his first game as a pro, going into the 2007 season, into last season and into every single game in between.

reggie BUST....
you guys thought we had given you a present with Reggie Bush getting passed over by the Houston Texans… but now we see that we were smart and you guys were dumb! lmao

I know, totally
What I wouldn’t give for a Houston Texans level of success. I’m such an idiot! lmfao! lmfao! lol! lol! l…ehh, that was good. Seriously, though, I think linemen are more consistently better high draft picks. Skill players always take time to live up to hype, if ever. Of course, the Saints got bit last time they drafted a lineman high, so I don’t know what the best choice for us would be from a historical perspective.

D’Brickashaw or trade down was what I was screaming at the time. All things considered, I still see little fault in either option. Of course, I was also screaming Josh McCown as a more affordable alternative to Brees or Leinart, so I’m not exactly the oracle to wise personnel decisions Mr. Loomis isn’t.

I was actually hoping for Young
I thought he would take Brooks’ place nicely, since their styles were somewhat similar anyway. Thank God nobody asked me.

umm..
are you sure your in the right spot?
I mean we welcome all here but we do TRY for actual thoughts when we post.
Lets go back and see…
Houston is #1 pick .. who do they take again? Will it still be the same pick?
The options looking BACK 3 years who was worth the #1 and #2 pick..

#1 and #2
yes, i was one of the few who applauded the williams pick.. considering i KNEW vince young in high school, and everyone IN houston knew that he was a egotistical guy who was hellbent on getting “his”… whatever “his” is. and i watched Reggie Bust in college, and we run zone, so anyone worth their salts knew he would never make it here…. he’s just a glorified overhyped 3rd down back.

I was in Eagle scouts with Brian Cushing, and he told me,“Hey, FuSoYa, you know that doucher chrisd21, well everybody says he or she is a real moron, and I say they are all right.” I couldn’t believe it when I heard it, but I’m starting to wonder.

sigh.......
just like shockey got tossed aside yesterday, i tossed all you saints fans aside as well… will it take another ten years before you guys crack the playoffs again? anyone want to bet we get to the superbowl before the “aints”?
by chrisd21 on Aug 21, 2009 3:37 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Everybody here would take that bet in a flat second, but we have pity on you and don’t want to bankrupt you before you make it to age 10.

lol
you had the #1 pick. It’s not like we were going to take Williams anyways when we had Smith and Grant in big money contracts. before you start talking about making it to superbowls why don’t you guys try making the playoffs first? i’d be more than happy to take that bet with you. idk how you’re talking crap when over the past 3 years you guys are 22-26. very good job. instead of making the playoffs, focus on having your first winning season in your franchise history. it’s not like you guys are going to make the playoffs this season anyways. the loser of the Indy/Titans race will get 1 wild card spot and then you have to beat out the Ravens or Steelers(loser of that division), Dolphins, and the Jets. LOL. you really think you can even make the playoffs this year? like i said, focus on having a winning season. Nothin against the Texans, just be smarter about where you’re going to talk trash at and how you’re going to do it.
Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D
