Well, I'm here, NFL network feed is showing "blacked out" and unavailable for the earlier game, Colts-Lions
And I’m hoping they don’t do that for the Saints-Raiders

I don't think so
Yes, they look atrocious, but they just have too many home run hitters (even if they are raw). They will have a couple of games against mediocre opponents where the talent gets a couple of big plays that win the game.

I don’t want them to do that well but I want Jamarcus to not look terrible.
do you think he'll return them
in the game? Reggie will return the punts probably, especially if he isn’t going to start. it’ll be kickoffs and punts.

I like Harper as a returner, but I think Bush is one of the best in the country at that. And Arrington is the better receiver.

when you play high pressure D
you’re going to give up some plays. I like the aggressiveness of G-dub. High risk, high reward

that definitely works… we’re still pitching a shut out

Wow, for another week the Saints are looking great, hitting on all cylinders. Which makes me wonder…
… where does Reggie Bush fit in? I can’t see that we even need him.
Sure would save a lot of cap space.

Just logged in
What can I say about today game? 38-0 going into the 4th? Awesome! Do you all know that by now we’re probably the statistically strongest team in preseason? (Most points scored/fewest allowed) Points to great things ahead!
Who looks good so far? Lynell Hamilton, PJ Hill (this RB battle IS heating up, ehh?) Meachem, Spicer, Gay, Moore…
Who looks bad? Hate to say it but Malcolm Jenkins. Hope it’s an off-day for him, cuz he’s misstepping and it ain’t pretty. On my watch, rush D looks better than pass D today. There were some high points, but Vilma (surprisingly Shanle) had good rush coverage. And Oakland ain’t too bad in preaseason (before today, were undefeated, put up a ton of points) so it is a great day to be a Saints fan!!!
Also, on a down note to wrap it up, special teams continue to look unimpressive. Jus sayin’

I love a Saints blowout!
I know it’s the Raiders and all, but it’s still nice to watch. Our guys look great! This is gonna be a great year. Check out the madd props Rotoworld gives Drew. I love this:
Drew Brees toyed with the Raiders Saturday, going 14-of-17 for 179 yards and two touchdowns in just more than one quarter of work.
Wow. Even for preseason, Brees was impressive. It’s not like the Raiders are swiss cheese in the passing game either, they finished 10th in the league last year. Brees is probably a safer pick at quarterback than Tom Brady, with Brady possibly having an even higher ceiling.
So much for the shut-out. The D was very impressive today.

Besides PT and Bush, what is everyone's ranking of the other 4 RBs?
I think I go with:
1.) Bell
2.) Hill
3.) Hamilton
4.) Donaldson
Any other opinions?
by TheBobLoblawBlog on Aug 29, 2009 6:06 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah,
I’m torn between Hill and Hamilton.
Hamilton ran for 5.94 yds/rush this game.
Hill went 6.73 yds/rush with 2 TDs

Just his gut feeling. PT seems to be nagged with an injury and these other guys are looking pretty good. If they don’t wanna cut PT they can IR him til next year

or are the decisions of who stays and who goes this season tougher than any other Saints season in their history? (or what I am saying is ..do the Saints have more talent and depth than any other season especially at the “skilled positions?” My vote is yes and I think we have the strongest training camp of any team in the NFL as far as talent and depth are concerned.
I hope if some of these RBs who look very strong and are young
and who don’t make the 53 man roster can be on the practice squad. I think some of them could step right in if the need arises.
