Rumor: Pierre Thomas' Injury More Severe than Team Letting On
Please note that this is just a rumor at this point but it comes from a pretty trustworthy source. A Saints doctor has been noted as saying the Saints are, in fact, lying about the severity of Pierre Thomas' injury.
I couldn't tell you how much more severe the injury is or when fans could expect Thomas back on the field but this piece of information would certainly seem to go along with all of the suspicious activity surround Thomas' knee. Given the high level of secrecy shrouding this injury, I'm beginning to worry it's pretty serious.

Payton said in his press conference
quoted in today’s Fleur de links:
“Here’s what we have with today’s injury report: Jammal Brown with his sports hernia did not practice, Pierre Thomas (right knee) did not practice, Darnell Dinkins (left foot) did not practice, and then Usama Young with the right shoulder was full. Those four players are on the injury report. Today was another day spent on base and some nickel and tomorrow we’ll move to the next phase of the installation.”
“was full” = “full go” = practicing normally?

Or possibly he ate too much.
Honestly, I’m not good at football press conference quickspeak.

You are working under the assumption
that everything Payton says is true. I don’t work under that assumption anymore.

interesting
this is why I labeled it as a rumor.

why would there be
a shroud of secrecy surrounding a Pierre Thomas injury in the first place? Not saying there isn’t, I just don’t understand why there would be. Is preparing for Thomas and preparing for Bell that much different on the Lions’ end of the stick? Will Ernie Sims bolt upright on the first play from scrimmage and scream “HANDS OFF #21! HE’S NOT THE UNDRAFTED WALK-ON WE SCHEMED FOR ALL WEEK”? Just trying to piecemeal the stratagem.

That's what irks me so much about it
All of these coaches think they’re government employees or CIA/FBI agents. It’s a freakin’ game for crying out loud. Get over yourselves.

NFL games are so close, we cannot allow anyone to gain the slightest edge on us.
Might mean somethin' to you
It ain't nothin' to me
I agree wholeheartedly
it gets to the point where it just becomes ridiculous. Fisher is notorious for that cr4p, too. Such a powerhouse organization the Titans carry into each season. Like Sherlock Hemlock is going to be subcontracted to hide inside a jersey hamper, just to score the inside scoop on Michael Roos’ sore toe. Anything to loosen that perrenial stranglehold your team has on the AFC South, Jeffrey.

So not on the PT bandwagon
I missed watching that one game where he showed promise and he’s looked terrible to me since then. GEAUX MIKE BELL!!! This dood is the real alternative to Reggie’s running style. WHO DAT!
...Mike Bell?
You mean, that Mike Bell? The one who, um, isn’t very good? Okay then.
You know I love ya xen-cuts, but a quick glance at both of their numbers and Mike Bell’s employment history will tell you that Bell, well a great option if someone gets injured, isn’t fit to carry Pierre’s jock, much less wear it onto the field. You’ll see very good things from PT when he’s healthy.

Hmm, when the opposition disagrees I have to listen...
Or are you just messing with me, getting my hopes up about a guy who can’t even jump over a fence?
I hope you are right about PT of course. Our pre-season running attack was pretty awful. Yeah, it was pre-season….but I’ve got no reason to think that they’ll be any different from last year because it’s just the same old people and same old stubborn coach.
I don’t know the whole story with Bell’s employment but the way he looked last year and in pre-season I’m starting to think that he hits on the owner’s wives or something else socially tacky enough to receive the hook.
BOOM rec'd it! Hey wait a minute....
But I like Mike Bell too. Dave you falcoholic falconer…. GA!!!
Might mean somethin' to you
It ain't nothin' to me
I would rec it, but...
I just can’t make myself do it for a post by our sworn enemy the Falconer. :)
I like PT Cruiser and still expect good production from him this season. He’s probably going to miss this game against the Lions, but I would be surprised if he doesn’t play against those other hated birds—the Eagles. PT is in a contract year and will be looking to come out playing hard for the entire season. I’m telling you, this guy is hungry to prove himself. He’s starving to prove himself. He’s hungrier than a vegan at a steakhouse to prove himself.

Oh well,
I rec’ed it anyway.

also rec'd it
Exactly what I have been trying to say. Bell is a good #3 back, maybe eventually a good #2 back but that’d probably be for another team.
Superbowl bound!!!...I hope? Go Saints! :D
