Sunday Morning Saints Audio and Pre-game Open Thread
Gooooooooooood morning Who Dat Nation!
Today is the day we find out what our team is really made of when the Saints face off in Philadelphia against the Eagles. Just as a reminder, today's game thread will open up at 11am Central. Until then, use this thread for all pre-game discussion and sharing of excitement. Make the jump for a bunch of audio clips from WWL's Sports Talk. There's a little Drew Brees mixed in there. It's up to you to find it.
Then after the game, don't forget to listen and call in to the live post-game show with Ralph Malbrough, Kevin Held and myself. Kicks off at 5pm Central. To add your voice to the conversation, call us at (347) 215-8037. Be there.

Bless You Boys
Time to step up and have the rest of the league take notice.

Nervewracking game.
I have been away for a few days and returned to see everyone going back and forth with the Eagles fans about who is better. Saints: we have Brees and our D is good enough to stop Kolb. Eagles: no one on Saints D can start on the Eagles (let’s go player by player to figure it out.)
The problem is that nobody trusts the performances of the first game for either team. And how can they? The Saints scored at will but gave up a lot of points to Detroit. Okay, I think the Saints got hosed on bs penalties but 21 points is a lot. The Eagles looked great until McNabb went down…but the Panthers kind of suck, too. And 5 INTs will make any team look pretty good.
So I’m nervous right alongside everyone else for this game.
I have no idea who Drew will pick today? He throws wherever the defense lets him. I’m going to suggest middle crossing routes will be more open against Philly. So that means…everyone will catch a lot of balls! I just hope Bell shoves those D-linemen from Philly out of the way. Hearing how the d-line in Philly is so great from the opposing side’s fans got me fired up, too. And I’ll take it one step further: even if Philly wins, their fans still have to live in Philly.
i am SO ready for this game...
…just to get the eagles fans outta here. They’re really one of a kind, huh?
I voted Reggie. He’s gonna blow up the receiving game today.

Butterflies for breakfast
I read a column stating that the Eagles defense is going to try to rush Drew up the middle and make him throw to his left. If they do that then I agree with xen-cuts. Over the middle crossing routes should be open. Also that defense should open up the middle for draw plays, and since Drew is not going to run a quaterback draw how does the wildcat sound? I know we have all seen trick plays lose us games. Just a question.

Oh yeah.
I’ve had butterflies for breakfast two days in a row. I did a 5K yesterday and my boy had a (pee-wee) football game. Now this morning I’m a bundle of nerves for my Boys!!

Bring pressure up the middle, fine...
Drew Brees needs to remember two things: check down and swing passes.
I voted Lance “Mighty Mouse” Moore, but I could easily see Reggie leading the team in catches.
"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!! Brian Milne might've fallen on it at the ten yard line! It's the New Orleans Saints' football! Brian Milne, the most unlikely hero of them all, falls on the fumble, the muff by Hakim! There is a God after all!"

Me too
I think Lance will be the leading wide receiver, but Reggie may well lead the team in receptions. Knowing the way Drew likes to share the ball, I bet Lance gets a TD today, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Dave Thomas get one too.

inactives
Pierre is active, Lynell Hamilton is inactive. A pretty good indication that Pierre will see action in my book.
Kendrick Clancy inactive. This could hurt us against the run and stopping Westbrook. Remi Ayodele to start in his place.
