New Orleans Saints @ Buffalo Bills: Game Predictions
Alright ladies, it's time for our third installment of CSC's prediction contest. Make them here and make them good.
This is also the point in the show where we acknowledge last weeks most accurate guesser, so congratulations to bayoumaverick who went three for three. Since he doesn't have an avatar set up, I treat you to another Saints cheerleader picture.
Good luck to all of this weeks participants.

42-27 saints
1. 3+ sacks by def
2. 2+ turnover diff
3. defensive/special teams td
bonus: drew brees gets perfect passer rating (158.3 or whatever is is)

2. D. Thomas gets a TD.

At the risk of sounding derivative...
I’m going to go with Brian of Buffalo on the score: 37-24. That sounds about right to me.
1. The Saints will trail at some point of the game.
2. The weather will not be a factor.
3. Zach Strief will score a touchdown.
That last one: I’m going to continue making that prediction until it happens. If they’re going to bring him in to play a jumbo tight end in short yardage situations, it’s inevitable that eventually they’ll throw to him.
Super Bowl 44: "If you play in this league and it's not your goal, there's something wrong with you." -- Marques Colston
Saints 55 Bills 17
1) Edwards throws 4 INT’s: Greer, Sharper, Gay and Porter each get one. Greer runs his back for a TD
2) PT has over 110 yards rushing with 2 TD’s, 1 at the goal line. Heath Evans also gets a goal line TD
3) Brees goes 430+ yards with 3 TD’s: each to Shockey, Colston, and a screen to Bush
Our first real SUPER blowout of the year. Go ahead, laugh at that score, I’m dead serious we’ll put up 55. Not because it’s Buffalo; they’re not bad, they do fight hard and have creative special teams, but we’re the Hottest Team in the NFL right now, and honestly NO ONE wants to face our Offense.
God, I can’t wait to see the Jets game next weekend…

Saints 48 Bills 10
Some EPSN insiders discussed what Bills offense does—lots of vertical routes. Saints will challenge the Bill’s attemtps at running the balll, and the Bills will throw deep a few times—for INTERCEPTIONS, Having NO PASS INTERFERENCE will run up the score for the Saints.
BIG THANKS TO SAINTS DEFENSE IN ADVANCE!!
38 - 24 Saints
1. Drew Brees plays well but is disappointed with only 3 passing TDs and 300 yds
2. Both Pierre and Heath score rushing TD’s
3. The defense will not have a turnover, and will be less than impressive
Saints 31 - Bills 20
The Saints get pinned at the 1 yard line. They hand off to Bush where he runs to the back of the endzone, beats 7 tacklers, and takes it all the way to the other 10 yard line when a freek blizzard hits in Buffalo and the game is called right before he steps into the endzone.
Saints 38 - Bills 17
1. R. Bush will score a TD
2. Saints D will get 3+ sacks
3. Saints win the TO battle
Saints 45 Bills 24
1) Lynell Hamilton gets a rush TD
2) Reggie gets a rec TD of 20+ yards
3) Hargrove gets 2 sacks and Greer gets INT — welcome back to Buffalo
BONUS — TO both has a drop at a crucial time and scores a meaningless TD & still showboats as Saints defenders just point to the scoreboard laughing.

Now, how does Rod Harper score his TD? on a punt return, or some other way?

That's the genius of it
I might be implying he’ll score on a punt return, but I also cover my bases if he scores as a WR. With Thomas, I figure Payton probably has a play for goal line situations where he’ll line up two TE’s in what looks like a run play and then have Drew go into play action and hit a wide open Thomas in the back of the endzone. It’s got to happen eventually cause defenses don’t seem to be paying much attention to him…yet.

Saints 24, Bills 9
+ Brees throws for 300+ yds, no picks
+ Saints D has 2+ picks
+ Reggie shines in the rushing game, PhotoOp is overshadowed
Payton and G-Dub both stubbornly wear their open head visors in spite of pouring rain. Popcorn ready for TO is soggy and useless. Fans begin calling for JP Losman. And OJ. And Jeff Kemp. And Joe Ferguson. Niagara Falls overflows and swamps Ralph J Wilson Stadium. National Guard is called out but only one camo colored humvee shows up because they’ve all been deployed to Afghanistan. 3. Colston gets 60+ yards and a TD.
I think it will be us up by at least a TD after the 1st quarter, Bills fight back in the 2nd and we end their momentum by putting up the last points of the half. Each team is sluggish on first possesion of 3rd quarter but the Saints find their rhythm on the 2nd and score some points. 4th quarter, Saints put up 10 points and Bills put up 3

Saints 44, Bills 20
1. Saints get 2 rushing TD’s
2. Devery Henderson gets a long TD.
3. Anthony Hargrove gets a sack and celebrates by leaving the game to find the nearest Pizza Hut. (I’m only half-kidding on this one… )
GEAUX SAINTS! I finally get to watch a game, I’m off this Sunday! Hopefully I can find a link.
Saints 44, Bills 17
1. Saints defense holds the Bills to under 200 total yards and creates 4+ turnovers.
2. Saints offense tops 400 yards.
3. Lynell Hamilton breaks 100 yards.
The people who say, "Winning isn't everything," don't win very often.
Saints 31 Bills 17
1) Brees 300+ yards, 3 TD 0 INT
2) Bush 100+ yards RUSHING (wet field gives him advantage), 200+ yards all purpose (rush/rec/ret), 1 TD
3) McCray 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble
I think the Saints will take advantage of the weather here, and that will surprise everyone, especially the Bills. Wet field can give an advantage to receivers, they know where the cut is, defenders have to react. Short passing game will eat the Bills defense up, missed tackles on short game will give huge YAC numbers to Saints receivers, and push Brees’ numbers up. Also, they will start to bite on short routes which will cost them at least one long TD hookup to Henderson.
Irony: An atheist Saints fan.
Saints 34-17
1. Rocketman throws for 325 yds, 3 TDs, No Ints
2. Vilma fumble recovery for TD
3. Defense forces 3 turnovers
Cause I can...
Bills 38-Saints 34
1) Trent Edwards will throw no interceptions
2) The Bills will score a special teams or defensive touchdown (my guess is ST)
3) Drew Brees won’t be sacked

Saints 41 Bills 23
1 – Brees has first game without INT, but throws < 300 yds and < 3 TDs
2 – Sharper has 3rd consecutive game with INT
3 – Grant and Smith each get a sack.
Saints 38, Bills 17
1. Rod Harper scores TD on punt return.
2. Defense gets 2+ turnovers.
3. Brees has completion percentage > 80%
Will this be the year I finally get to pop this cork?
Saints 38, Bills 20
Brees- Over 300 yards, 2+TDs
Anthony Hargrove get’s a sack and/or makes a big TFL
Jabari Greer gets his first interception as a Saint
Saints 21 - Bills 13
I see this game as a defensive struggle, so:
1. Shanle gets a turnover
2. Vilma leads team in tackles.
3. Bills’ WRs have fewer than 6 catches combined.
Saints 34 - Bills 23
1. A Saints DLineman recovers a Bills Fumble
2. Jabari Greer has 1+ INTs
3. The GrandMaster QB (Mr. Drew Brees) throws for 350+ yds
From a Bills Fan: Saints 31, Bills 23
I like our chances this week but I think we lose a squeaker because we can’t punch it in and have to kick Red zone field goals.
Some food for thought:
1. The Saints will not be able to throw the ball deep. Nobody does against the Tampa 2 when it’s playing well. But Brees is smart and won’t try. He’ll paper-cut us to death.
2. Brees will throw at least 50 passes.
3. The Bills win the turnover battle.
4. This game hinges on how accurate Brees is on 3rd and 6. The Bills stop the run well and don’t allow big plays. That translates to 3rd and 6. If a QB can execute the way Brady did week 1, the Bills will lose this game. If he doesn’t execute (Leftwich last week), the Bills win. But I’d bet on Brees to execute.
Good luck this week guys. I’ll see you out on the field.
Jonathan Stupar won the Heisman…while playing in the NFL!
Saints win 54 - 30
- Saints win Time of Possesion battle with a 2 to 1 ratio.

- Bush gets >100 all purpose yards.
Before you pick your Super Bowl winner ask yourself this: Can you name an offense that can keep pace with the Saints?- Jerome Bettis
Saints 31-17
1. Weather (and to a less extent the Bills’ secondary) holds Brees to under 300 passing yards and less than 66% completions.
2. Pierre Thomas nets over 80 total yards.
3. Reggie Bush scores twice (1 rushing, 1 receiving)
"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!
