Good deal

We still have Arrington, Pressley, and Hill somewhat in the fold. They can still go anywhere if someone makes them an offer…but they can also choose to stay, if they want to. Meh…it’s better than nothing.

That's the way I look at it

They’re obviously not going to intentionally go practice squad hopping, so a better opportunity would have to exist. At least you’re expressing interest in the players, basically saying “if anything happens to the guys we have, we could very well be promoting you”. Even that’s not something etched in stone, but it’s a tiny show of faith. Along with a better-than-real-world-employment paycheck.

I am very happy these guys are on the practice squad

Is it just me or does that seem like possibly the most talent the Saints have ever put on a practice squad? Additionally, I think it is a practice squad with loads more talent than most teams. Now, I know that doesn’t count for anything, but….. I like that we still have a rapport and some connection to these guys- I think they all have a great chance of having legitimate NFL careers. I hope we can also some way hold on to some connection (unofficial of course) with Roby, and I also hope that if Grant and Smith are suspended that Spicer will be on the roster, but ulitmately this is good news. Now, the only thing that would make me happier is if we signed Deuce to be on our roster and let him get the exemption status so he could play in the NFL after the first 4 games (with us or with someone else) if there was an interest in him as opposed to some team showing interest in him in October and then he has to sit 4 games out then. .
