I will be watching Greer closely on Sunday

Hope he plays well – we need him back there with TP!

Greer needs to rest

We know he can play…he’s got nothing to prove. Soft tissue injuries easily recur…let the man take it easy. We lose him again in a meaningless game and he will NOT be ready for the playoffs.

rest Greer. He’ll be ready by the second round

Well since Drew is being rested

and Brunell is starting, why play anyone unnecessary. If we can field 25 backups, do it (22 offense/defense + kicker, punter & long snapper). Take no risks on anyone. Even though no team ever has lost their last 3 games and won the SB.

There is only ONE previous team in NFL history

that was the top seed in the playoffs and lost their last three games. They didn’t win the Super Bowl. Neither did the 18-0 Patriots. I don’t think it’s a “trend” we need to be overly concerned with. There isn’t enough statistical data in the relatively short history of the Super Bowl to make any predictions based on what happened in the past.

The only consistent is the team that played the best on that particular day won.

I think Greer is very ready and I think they would really like to see him play a little bit

before the playoffs. It might make a difference. There is a little risk of reinjury, but they probably feel he is very well healed. I don’t think practice gets you quite as ready as real game situations.

agreed

There is no substitute for game speed conditions. In Greer’s case, since he has been out for 8 weeks, he needs to get a few reps in the game to see where he’s at recovery-wise. However, I certainly wouldn’t play him for long.
