Saints Players Want Fans to Blackout Dome

I've been noticing a trend on Twitter among all of the Saints players and figured it was worth mentioning here on Da Chronic. Apparently, they want everyone going to the game this Saturday to wear black. The best way to do that, of course, is to purchase one of the t-shirts they are promoting. Proceeds benefit the city of New Orleans. Here's is what they're saying via the internet's latest social networking craze. I'm throwing in a few unrelated tweets from Shockey just because, well, they're awesome.

For those of you going to the game, be sure to wear black. But make sure your pants are gold.

that is awesome if the city can come together to help those less fortunate

Possible explanation...

We are wearing black jerseys and gold pants (as per Jeff Duncan)…. and fans will be all in black… something tells me the Cards may get a little confused on the field….??

You gotta go there to come back

by bondcrash on Jan 13, 2010 3:43 AM CST reply actions

that could play into our favor

Or it could help Warner out by being able to spot his own recievers. One will never know till game time

The Dome will look very dark and menacing

Kinda like a Cloud of death hovering all around with the sound of a awesome brain busting Thunder…………………….Totally Awesome !!!!!! They need to play Garth Brooks “As the lightening stikes and the heart grows cold” during player introductions for a chilling effect. Scares me to think about it.

and furthermore

That was classic Joe Buck, jumping the gun and speaking his mind for our edification. Unless and until Randy “wiped”, a reasonable person would have assume that he was shooting the moon, not dumping a load. Should’ve had Michael Irvin or Deion at hand to defend Moss. I thought it was funny and I still do, especially after hearing how those Packer fans treat the visiting teams and their fans.

great idea! which leads me to the following question for all CSCers

I read an article that I’m sure most of you also read about Brees ( i believe it was a fanshot on this site). The article said that when Brees was at Purdue, a lot of the fans would paint a brown birthmark on their cheek in support of Drew and that he wasn’t offended by it. What do y’all think about that? Is it inappropriate? Is it something our fanbase should adopt, too? I’m not really sure what to think.

by Hans Petersen on Jan 13, 2010 6:26 PM CST reply actions

Another Idea

Why doesn’t the dome turn down the lights during pregame introductions as the players run out of the tunnel like the NBA does before games? I think that would get the crowd even more pumped. Combine that with the fan blackout and some ying yang twins, can you imagine the noise?

In Breesus' name we play

The lights in the Dome take too long to come up once they shut down.

Once they’re on, if they go down it takes 20 minutes to an hour to start back up again. It would be a nice effect, though.

At TicketMasters TicketXchange, you can get 2 together on the corner (not endzone) in the 600’s for around $150 each.
