Looking into the crystal ball

This is just my humble opinion of how I see things panning out.  Not really sure that it deserves it's own fan post, so I'm encouraging others to post their own prognostications.  Let everyone know, on the record, how you think the game will unfold.  See my take after the jump.

I started this exercise by thinking about what we were up against this week with the Vikings:

1.  A top-rated defensive front four

2.  A superbowl caliber QB

3.  A solid, physical, running game with a powerful running back

4.  Emerging, solid talent at WR and TE

5.  A weakness in the secondary

Then, I tried to think of what team we have faced that fit this profile the closest.  Now, certainly, the team I came up with is of considerable less caliber than the Vikings, but they were 5-0 when we played them.  We were healthy when we played them, and we played them at home.  I'm thinking the NY Giants.  Now before salty, grime and puddinpie go 'berserker', I want to be clear that the Vikings are a much, much better version of the Giants.  I mean no disrespect to the Vikings, but when you consider the 5 traits above, we could be talking about either team.

In that game we had a game plan to neutralize thier pass rush.  And we did.  We played balanced, ball-control offense.  We scored early and kept scoring.  We focused on stopping the run until we built a lead, which then forced them to get away from the run.  We pressured Manning enough to rush his throws.  Manning played a decent game--he only threw one INT, but they just couldn't keep up.  The dome noise was off the richter scale.  I don't think we'll beat the Vikes 48-27, but I predict we beat them by greater than a touchdown.

Now its your turn to gaze into the crystal ball...
