Minnesota Vikings 28 @ New Orleans Saints 31: The View from Section 140 (Pictures!)
The wife and I had a Mardi Gras ball to attend the night before at the Hilton Riverside so we decided to stay at the hotel and make a weekend out of it. We spent the day walking around downtown and being tourists in our own city. I brought the camera with me everywhere we went and I think the result is a pretty cool photographic journey through the day. There's a good bit here and I hope it conveys the entire feel of the day. My finest photographic work to date, if I do say so myself. Enjoy.
Sort of a homemade frontiersman-type Saints outfit.
Don't ask because I have no idea.
Viking pimps.
Best shirt of the day. Drew looks pretty scary.
$2,500 original. I'm waiting for the print.
The morning's headline.
Saints RV
Saints RV
The calm before the storm.
Theme of the night.
This is where I start to get nervous.
I'll let you guys caption this one.
Payton is driving this offensive...plow?
Fans watching the AFC game inside the Superdome lounge.
Good one.
Normally the Voodoo Man.
George Bush, Sr. with the Bensons.
Brunell shaking hands with Bush and Rita being told a secret. Shhh. Tracy Porter also came over to chat with Bush for a moment.
James Carville
Apparently Carville is always working.
Roger Goodell and George Bush having a chat.
Pre-game chant.
Pre-game stretches.
Tom and Gayle doing a walk around before the game, just in case he doesn't get to make one afterwards.
Yes, that is the Ying Yang twins chillen' with a couple of nuns. Bet you never thought you'd see that.
Caption this photo, too.
Scary. But probably not for the reasons he thinks.
Another good one.
Deuce and Reggie watching the action.
Why would I stop now?
Reggie set to return a punt.
Here we come to get you.
More Favre signs.
Jay Glazer
I think this was the 4th down play in OT.
Getting the confetti shooter ready.
Security in place.
The kick heard 'round the quarter. And...
...pandemonium...
He can't believe it.
Benson boogieing onto the field.
Post-game ceremony.
More confetti.
How many trees were killed in the making of this celebration? Who cares, it's worth it.
Payton raising the trophy.
Sharper on the big screen.
Payton walking around the stadium.
Sharper walking around the stadium with the trophy.
This ought to cover us in the mojo department for all of next season.
Mickey Loomis greeting fans.
And signing autographs.
Beautiful.
Cleaning up.
Sign outside stadium on Poydras St. ramp.

"I definitely believe in destiny, and I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We have been on the other side of this deal probably too many times. Maybe it's our time that we start catching some of the breaks, and start being the team that wins them like this in the end." -- Drew Brees

Nice work on the photos as usual, though even you would admit you may have been working in one of the most target-rich environments of all time on Sunday.

it was a special time in 1998 when the Broncos became champions for the first time and may the best team between the Saints and Colts win @ South Florida. I like them both. Good luck!

Confetti idea
not sure if they threw it all away, but I thought a good idea would have been to save it then sell portions of it with some type of other item like a small plaque or something commemorating this event, then have all the proceeds go to charity. I’d buy that.
