First Round Predictions Poll
Okay, I know we only do predictions on Saints games, but since this is a bye week and we can stuff our faces with popcorn and relax, let's predict the NFC action this week.
My predictions(take them to the bank):
Philadelphia 27, Dallas 24
Arizona 24, Green Bay 17
Why would I pick these teams given how things went last week? Because the analysts like Dallas and Green Bay. That's just how I roll.

I think Dallas has Philly's number
and Kurt Warners experience will prevail over Aaron Rodgers experience.
My Magnificent Black and Goald Warriors
Arizona is definitely playing possum
…but I just don’t know about Dallas. They might be due for a big win tomorrow night, but somehow I think fate will bring the Eagles and Saints together again in the playoffs. That’s how that stuff tends to work out.
People with high-blood pressure should consult their doctor and ask if they're healthy enough for Saints activity before rooting for this team.
I really dont care how it all works out..........
as long as we end up playing Dallas in the NFC Championship game. I really want to quiet the “Fear the Star” trash talk and get some payback. To me……….Thats the Super Bow !!!!
My Magnificent Black and Goald Warriors
Which is exactly the wrong attitude
I hope the Saints players don’t consider anything short of the Super Bowl “the Super Bowl.”
And I couldn’t care less about Dallas. If Philly beats them, and we win the Lombardi, and they whine about being better than us so they really should have been champions, so what? Let ‘em whine. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a championship.
BURN THE BLACK PANTS!!!
I would hope the players and coaches do...........
Every game from here on out is a Super Bowl untill the last one. There are no other chances. You wont be able to " have a short memory and get on to the next one: because there are no more.
I respect that you don’t care about Dallas and that is your choice but you undoubtably don’t DISLIKE Dallas as much as I do…….which is my choice. I do agree with you on one thing (and we win the Lombardi,) I will not be able to contain myself.
My reference to meeting Dallas in the NFC Championship game and winning WOULD put us in the Super Bowl. Winnnig the Super Bowl is the ULTIMATE GOAL but kicking Dallas’s aXX along the way would make it even sweeter.
My Magnificent Black and Goald Warriors
I never buy into the “yeah, they won it all but they didn’t have to play us” rhetoric. That’s just loser talk from teams that got sent packing.
People with high-blood pressure should consult their doctor and ask if they're healthy enough for Saints activity before rooting for this team.
it's kinda like Tampa Bay
When they won the Superbowl, we swept them that year, so does that mean we should have been the champs that year, well yeah but we should be the champs every year. It doesn’t matter who you play, just as long as you win in the end
Dallas wins. It's destiny to bring them to NOLA. GEAUX SAINTS

hater couldn’t help but go against them. But they once again look like the team to beat. Please, Saints org. I,ve ate my share. But dammit I’ll be here next year again rooting for those black pants again.

It’s this year. It’s ment to be. We will see the TURDS in the NFC Championship game in the Dome. We will put a good old fashion bayou azz whip’n on them. The tone of these posts will change when the rested healthy Saints hit the field taking no prisoners! GAUX SAINTS

you've been watching too much ESPN, oldfart
Don’t believe the hype. As bad as we played the cowgirls, we were only one dropped Devery pass from winning that game. Or one Reggie tweaked hammy in the open field, or one missed Bushrod block. Bottom line we had several opportunities to win that game and we’ll get it right when it counts (if cowgirls even get that far).

Dallas looks on paper to be better in every category than Philadelphia. But Philly doesn’t choke like Dallas does…not in the first round, at least. I think the Cowboys come out tight and cautious, and Philly comes out with blood in their eyes.
Philadelphia 31, Cowboys 19
As for the Cardinals, they’re difficult to predict because they’re wildly erratic. Last year, everyone wrote them off and they made the Super Bowl. This year, everyone is afraid of them, so they’re going to get blown apart.
Green Bay 34, Arizona 13.
Coincidentally, this sets up exactly the scenario I was hoping for: we beat Philly in the divisional round, and the Packers break Favre’s heart up in Minneapolis. Then it’s Saints-Packers for the NFC Championship.
BURN THE BLACK PANTS!!!
It's anybodys guess
First I hate the Cowboys. It pains me to say this but they are hit’n on all cylinders and do have the talent. I don’t think they are afraid of anyone right now and rightfully so. IMHO. We will see and put an azz whip’n on them in the NfC Championship game. GEAUX SAINTS

dallas wont beat philly a 3rd time..philly in a close one.
aaron rodgers has no playoff experience, the cards do…cards win
minnesota gets a revenge win over the cards
philly is beat up from two games with dallas in a row..saints win
favre comes to the dome and gets beat up, hargrove goes nuts and has the game of his life..saints win
saints face charges in miami..drew brees gets revenge on san diego

Minimal hype. Always win in December. But still always get bounced in the playoffs

I want us to beat the Cowboys in the NFC Championship, but there’s no freakin’ way I can root for them on the way there.
That’s basically how I feel about tomorrow night’s game. I hate Philadelphia and Dallas so much that I’ll probably drag a TV onto the bathroom sink and watch the entire game from the shower with cold water running.

I would eat my own puke before I would root for the Turds! BUT. Greater powers than us will bring them to the Dome for the NFC Championship. I am repeating myself. But hang on to your hats! Depends
on what I had eaten before puking…now that’s just gross! Don’t think I would ever pull for Dallas. Their fans have the same problem all of the Redskins fans up here have. They think that the sun rises and falls on their teams. WE know that it rises and falls over the Superdome and the Saints! New Orleans Saints—the NEW America’s Team!! Wouldn’t I love to see that…

Final tallies before PHI/DAL Kickoff
I know some votes are going to come in after the game starts and I don’t have the authority to close the poll, so, here they were as of 8:00 ET on Sat. night:
Dallas + GB = 23%
Dallas + AZ = 13%
Phi + GB = 43%
Phi + AZ = 20%

I hate to say it, but our only chance against Dallas is if Romo gets hurt, either early on in that game or before then (against Minnesota, for example). The Cowboys defense is absolutely relentless. They will eat Brees alive, much like they did McNabb. Probably much like they’ll do Favre next week. They don’t have a single starter on IR. We need their offense to struggle like ours will and Romo out is the shortest distance between those two points. If anyone knows Tonya Harding’s number, I’d be happy to make the call.

Btw, anyone who said momentum didn’t mean anything doesn’t have a leg to stand on in these playoffs, so far. Two more blowout losses by the Week 17 winners. If Green Bay wins in a romp, it’s going to be a tense Superdome crowd next week. We need the Cards and Vikings to snap out of their comas and spark the parity.
"I was not on the boat in question." -Darren Sharper
maybe you should be looking to move to Dallas CP
I can’t believe you of all people are being swayed by the Cowboys hype machine. I’ll grant you they’re on a roll. But we certainly can beat these guys. I’m not that impressed with their Eagles win. What did they really show us other than that they are better than a team they’ve already beaten twice.
We hung 48 on the Eagles this year ourselves (Mcnabb doesn’t play defense).
We gave our worst performance against dallas and only lost by 7.
Lets just wait and see what happens before you write us off.
P.S. Don’t send CSC the cleaning bill for your underpants ;)

Brees was also harrassed the entire game by an unheathy DeMarcus Ware. He’s back to 100% now. Not like we’ve gained anything back on the OL, unless Shockey can help out substantially in that regard. I’m not being swayed by any hype whatsoever. Dallas is actually that good. Every other team in the NFC appears to be clicking on all cylinders on offense, suspect on defense, including us. Dallas is the only team without major question marks on either side of the ball. That’s why I’m saying they need a chink in their armor. There’s no one player whose loss would affect them more now than Romo. Hopefully someone will bring that Achilles heel to the surface before we play them, because as of right now, I just don’t see it.
"I was not on the boat in question." -Darren Sharper
I get it, but I'm not buying it
D Ware is a beast. Plain and simple. We will have to double team him next time around and move Brees around in the pocket. Same goes for Jared Allen.
Don’t forget we were without Shockey against Dallas. He can block, and just as important, he is Brees’ safety valve during a blitz. I also have a sneaking suspicion we are going to see a lot more of Lance Moore in the slot during the playoffs. He’s another quick blitz beating option for Brees. Because of injury, there is almost no game film of him this year, but we all know what he can do. And finally Reggie was injured the entire second half. He is also a safety valve for Brees. Bottom line: Brees will have all of his quick dump options available to beat the pass rush. Against Dallas he had none.
As far as Philly goes, they showed us why they were a six seed. They would have gotten manhandled by AZ or GB today, maybe worse than they were by the Cowboys. Not that impressed by that win.
Speaking of defense, GB had the best D in the NFC this year and AZ just hung 51 on them. So I’m not convinced it is going to be the difference maker for Dallas.
Dallas is good. They are on a roll, but it wasn’t that long ago that they barely beat Washington 7-6 on the last play of the game. With a little competition, it doesn’t take much for Dallas to fold their tent.

I’m not worried about who had the best defense this YEAR, I’m only worried about who has the best pass rush right NOW. Granted, things change. The Packers lost Atari Bigby in their secondary today. Who have the Cowboys lost in their front seven since the last time we played them? I agree that Philly would have probably lost to AZ or GB today, but McNabb wouldn’t have been relentlessly harrassed by either of them. Had they gotten blown out, it would have been due moreso to their own shortcomings on defense. And the 7-6 Washington game was roughly seven weeks ago, right about the last time we last beat another team convincingly. A lot can change in seven weeks. Of course, a lot can change in three, as well … I just haven’t seen any evidence of it yet. I’m sure the Saints will game plan their asses off for the Cowboys, I just don’t have much confidence that they can contain the heat. Which is fine, if we’re facing Jon Kitna. Romo, different story. Then again, of the three rematches this weekend, one team managed to flip flop momentum at home, against a seemingly superior opponent, so who knows?
