Curse of the black pants...the TRUTH.

There's been a lot of talk here at CSC about the Saints black pants being cursed. This topic has been talked about for the past few years. Rumors and half-truths have spread like wildfire. I have never thought much of it. However, I decided to put all of the rumors to rest and do a little research. I was very surprised to see the results and have reached a conclusion.

WE MUST NEVER WEAR BLACK PANTS. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE MUST NEVER WEAR BLACK PANTS WITH BLACK JERSEYS.

The facts after the jump.

Since 2006, the Saints have had 4 different uniform combinations: Black jersey/Gold pants, Black jersey/Black pants, White jersey/Gold pants, White jersey/Black pants.

HERE ARE OUR RECORDS FOR EACH UNIFORM COMBINATION:

Black jersey/Gold pants: In 13 games, we are 9-4 for a 69% winning percentage

White jersey/Gold pants: In 27 games, we are18-9 (67%)

White jersey/Black pants: In 15 games, we are 9-6 (60%)

Black jersey/Black pants: In 17 games, we are 8-9 (47%)

Overall, in 40 games while wearing gold pants, we are 27-13 (67%)

In 32 games while wearing black pants, we are 17-15 (53%)

Clearly there is something to this. I'm not sure what it is, but I would like to see gold pants the rest of the way.
