Four things that will happen Sunday

With Sunday fast approaching I have compiled a list of four things that I would like to see happen during the game. Now granted this is just one man's opinion but I don't think I am going to far out on a limb. So without further ado here is my list,

1.      Jimmy Clausen throws two interceptions.

It goes without saying that Clausen struggled last week in their loss to the Bengals. He is young and as seen last week he is trying to force balls to his receivers. He threw an interception and lost two fumbles in their loss to the Bengals. I truly believe that trend will continue this week. His poor decision making will not be the only area of concern. He is currently completing only 48% of his passes for a QB rating of 46.1 that is just not going to be good enough against the Saints. Which leads me to...

2.      Defense gets off the field on third down.

With the way our defense couldn't stop the Falcons on third down last week and as mad as I am sure that made G.W. I would be surprised if the Panthers convert on any third down this week. (Okay maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration)   However, if Clausen plays as bad as he did last week and we are able to keep them in 3rd and long situations I truly don't believe they stand much of a chance at converting. If you look at their percentage from last week I thought it was a typo at first. They were just 18% on third down, that is pretty bad. Now they do have a very good running game I am just not that confident in their passing attack. All in all I don't feel that they can do very much offensively against a defense that has a lot to prove after last week.

3.     Drew Brees puts all of this "injury" talk to bed.

I know that the media has a job to do and Drew Brees is the face of our franchise BUT...ENOUGH ALREADY!I actually heard someone say today that his injury is a lot worse than they are saying it is and he can barely walk. I am so tired of this talk. Last I checked this is football and you are going to be sore if a 280 pound linebacker hits you but that is all it is he is sore. He took 100% of the snaps during all practices this week. HE IS FINE!!! If the Panthers still had Peppers I might be a little worried but they don't really have a great pass rush anymore and with as quick a release as Brees has a little soreness is not going to hurt him at all. If he does wear a brace though I promise you it will be on all off the pre-game shows and we will have to hear about it all morning. My prediction is he is going to have his best game so far this season and put all of that talk to bed. Which again leads me to my next point...

4.      Offense poised for a big day.

We threw some interceptions and dropped some balls against a good Atlanta team and still almost won that game. I am sure Drew watched that tape and made the adjustments that need to be made. I feel 100% confident in putting my paycheck on the line that Drew will not make those mental errors which led to the interceptions last  week. Our offensive line are going to have a gut check and open up some big holes for the new running backs on the block in Betts and Ivory. At the end of the game I firmly believe that we will all be saying "now that is the offense I remember". In the running game I think we will have a pretty good day but Drew will be his normal confident self.

Now wether a team says it or not we all know that they are competitors who don't like to lose, especially at home. I don't really think that it would matter who we were playing on Sunday our team has a lot to prove and Sunday is the day that we show it. I for one can't wait and I feel sorry for the Panthers that they are going to have to deal with the wrath of a team as good as we are.
