New Orleans Saints 20 @ Arizona Cardinals 30: Who Dat Say!?
jeffduncantp That'll do it. Pick Six by Rodgers-Cromartie makes it 30-20 'Zona with 10 ticks to go. Saints will fall to 3-2. Big win for Cards.
T_Porter22 RT @maxminelli: Its ok champs, nobody ever said it would be easy. We'll be ok. #whodat 4 life
T_Porter22 Man, two losses under our belt..the only thing this means is that we can't go 16-0 or 15-1. Doesn't mean anything else..
jeffduncantp Waiting for sean payton's post-game presser. Meantime, here's a stat: #saints ran 13 plays in the red zone today and gained 22 yards.
reggie_bush Tough loss for us today. We have to get better and find a way to win the next game. It's hard to win in this league but we are up 2 the task
sharper42 Tough loss,we will bounce back. Especially when we get healthy.
MalcolmJenkins This loss stings but its a long season and we are gonna stick together as a team..shotout to the fans that aren't fair weathered we play 4 u

JonVilma51 Tuff loss today...we win as a team, we lose as a team... and as a team... we got to get better. That's what champions do.
MalcolmJenkins I know the majority of saints fans are loyal as can be and have stuck with us through wayyy worse than two losses and that was my point
MalcolmJenkins We play for you guys... the real who dat nation!
alexbrown96 Tough loss out there today. We have got to improve as a team and understand this is a long season but the sooner we get on track the better.
FletcherMackel I talk a lot....a lot....and I'm speechless...not sure what to say after that game.
jeffduncantp How wild is the NFC? In one week, the Saints go from being tied for the best record in the NFC to being in third place in theirdivision.
T_Porter22 Not time to panic bc it's still early...but WE have to make the proper corrections to get us back to playing SAINTS fball as we know it. True champions know what it takes. And WE WILL do whatever it takes!!

I dont think Jenkins got it right? Fair weather fans are by far not MOST of us in here chatting about this loss….Smart move on his part for adjusting his comment since he has only been around for a few years while everything has been good in the NOLA!!!
The reporters did not ask the right questions at all!!! How bout Drew how is your arm feeling? or Why is the Defense out performing the high octane offense this year? you have had 5 weeks to make the so called adjustments?
Taking a loss is always hard. I think our opponents are all starting to plan around our offensive passing game. We have become one demensional with the passing game after Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas being out. A lot of good teams lost on Sunday. Losses happen and we need to make adjustments starting by getting our running game back to set up for the play action.

Did you sleep through the first half of the Vikings game? That’s when the pass-run imbalance began and it has yet to be rectified.

I just went over the play-by-play
14 minutes of game time spanning 5 drives without a single running play. WTF?!!?!
Did you just find this out?

I realized they weren't running much yesterday
I just didn’t realize it so complete and for that long.
yes actually I was
The first half of the game was so boring I did go to sleep. We cannot rectify a run game when we don’t have healthy running backs to fix the problem. They don’t have any confidence with the backups.

“We cannot rectify a run game when we don’t have healthy running backs to fix the problem.”
We have Betts, Ivory and Wynn. It doesn’t take success on the ground to benefit from running the ball.
“They don’t have any confidence with the backups.”
Then go out and get three more, until you have a few you are confident in.

The O-line
looks a lot more efficient at their run blocking so far this year anyway. Brees has been getting nailed a lot more than usual even though the line is intact. Maybe if they would run more often they could get the play action working and get some of those big plays.
Where's the surprise?
Best play of the game was Shockey’s touchdown reception all alone in the endzone. I think the defense was expecting an Ivory run (we always hand off to him when he’s in the backfield). Except for that play, it seems to me that the opposing teams know what we are planning to run before we run it. We are predictable. Am I the only one thinking this?
We need to devise new plays, and restore balance to the offense as CP called for yesterday.
Beating yourselves is even harder
I chuckled when Payton in the Video made a comment stating, we have to make those field goals. I’m thinking WTH? What he really needs to say is we need to score TOUCHDOWNS and be the agressive down the field high octane offense. What happened to our gutsy ballsy head coach?
Please Mr. Payton don’t go MORA on us!!
There’s a fine line between between ballsy and moronic. In a tie game, on fourth down within the red zone, you kick the FG. That’s a no-brainer. You do so expecting to make said FG. Even if Chip Lohmiller is your kicker, you simply MUST have enough faith in your kicker to put it through the uprights from that distance. If you don’t, then you need to go out find another kicker. And go for the two point conversion after every TD, because Lord knows he’s going to shank those, too.

Drew is a stand up guy....
and I thought that nearly all he said was admirable and on-target, but does he really need to state that the fumbles were lucky breaks for the Cards, or that the ball “didn’t bounce our way”, etc.? Regardless of whether it’s true, it just makes me cringe whenever players (or coaches), shirk responsibility by blaming “bad luck”. I understand he’s pissed, but that sort of talk reminds me of the attitudes of a number of teams we defeated last year Vikes cough cough.
Hats off to the Cards.
I know we say this every time, but maybe this game was finally the “wake-up call” that we’ve all been waiting for (for both players AND coaches). If the Atlanta loss wasn’t s**tty enough, this one certainly was.
you gotta admit it's a rare occasion when a team hits the QB so viciously he almost gets knocked out
and fumbles- and then TD!!! Offensive Tackle- TD!!! I think that’s worth mentioning when a player is asked about the game.

You’re absolutely right; I just don’t want us to slip into that territory—thought he could have worded it better.
Brees interception thrown to Betts.
Sure seemed to me that Betts made zero attempt to get his body in front of the ball. As I saw it he had come to a stop ,wasn’t in motion with the ball thrown behind him, and just stuck his hand out and tipped it. .

my favorite play
I think he lost it in the lights. Seriously. He is turned and facing Brees, expecting to maybe get the pass, and he just reacts late. Like I would. GAAA!!!
And gave the impression that I did not care,
But oh, the embarrassment, oh, the despair.
and we must be careful
if we are going to say that when the Saints D gets takeaways they are by design and effort, and when teams get them against us, it’s only fair that the same be said about their defense…
It's gonna be a great year.
just noticed
75% of the jabbering head Saints players on this post didn’t play.
THIS IS WHY WE ARE LOSING
I find it funny that...
…most of the “we gotta get better” twitter comments are from defensive guys when the defense is surely playing a whole lot better than the offense. Stange to say that about the Saints.

“when the defense is surely playing a whole lot better than the offense”
“A whole lot better” is a bit of an overstatement. Despite their recent decline, the Saints offense currently ranks 10th overall in the league in yards per game. Meanwhile, the defense is now ranked 9th in the same category, through 5 games. It’s more a case of “not what we’re used to seeing” out of both sides that’s skewing that perception.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
What about points per game?
I bet thats much higher for the D and much lower for the O.
Week 6 matchup: Bucs
Week 6 motto: Win? Maybe? Alright well then just don't embarrass me.
come on, pizza...
You just replied to me the other day that “yards don’t mean jack”, but now you want to use yardage to justify that our offense can’t put up points? I believe the defense is doing a great job, considering all the sticky situations the offense keeps putting them in.
