Look for Saints to Sign Cornerback Soon
Keep in mind that I have no actual source or factual evidence confirming this claim. Based only on Sean Payton's answer during today's press conference to a question about whether the team will or needs to sign a cornerback ...
We still have that flexibility but the likelihood is that we wouldn’t. We’ll have that within the group that we go with.
...and his recent penchant for predicting the opposite of what actually happens, I'd say the chances are good we'll see the Saints sign a cornerback sooner rather than later.
And he left himself an out by using the word "likelihood." Well played. Sure it's likely that the Saints won't sign a new cornerback...but it's also possible the team is working out free agents as we speak.
We just don't know.

First this blog, then blog radio. Surely this means you’re headed towards having your own cable TV show. : )
"Dang! The Saints won the Super Bowl!" - my wife, Meso "Happy" Hu Dat.
At first reading that...
I was thinking Aw crap he spent too much time with BBS during the Super bowl.
Week 6 matchup: Bucs
Week 6 motto: Win? Maybe? Alright well then just don't embarrass me.
I was thinking the same thing when I read that quote by Payton
It might also mean that Tracy Porter will be out for another 6 weeks, instead of 2-3.
Honestly, it does seem like they almost have to sign someone as a backup DB. Giordano is strictly a special teams guy, and the only other backup corners at the moment are Young and Torrence. One more injury and they won’t even be able to field a dime package.
If SP has indeed turned into Bizzaro and started speaking the opposite, what should we make of this quote?
I like this team — not a little, a lot.

All kidding aside,
if the Predator can come back and look like he did against the Pats, he’d be a welcome sight right about now.

McKenzie played well against the Patriots, but was an outright liability Washington and Dallas. Good locker room guy, but the tank is pretty much bone dry. I’d be surprised to see him back.

Gonna lift the lid off hell, drink some beer, I'm gonna live it swell
Then I'm gonna shout for more.
What’s going on with Greg Fassitt?
From his Wikipedia page:
The Saints re-signed Fassitt to their practice squad on November 28, 2009. He was promoted to the active roster on December 26 when the team waived tight end Tory Humphrey. The Saints waived Fassitt on December 29 and re-signed him to the practice squad. He was signed to a future contract on February 13, 2010.

If there were any decent cornerbacks out on the street, the Wikiings would have signed them by now.
Doesn’t rule out a trade, though. Probably depends on how P-Rob plays too.

I would trade for a LB before a DB.
