Fleur-De-Links Sunday, October 31: Halloween Gameday Spooktacular Edition
Happy Halloween, Who Dat and CSC Nations!!!!
It's Sunday morning with a spooky chill in the air, a latte in my mug, and a bowl of candy a little bit too close for comfort. (Quick! what are the three annual mornings in which it's sanctioned to have candy for breakfast? Today, Christmas, and Easter. I may not be much of an organized religion man, but I will follow the Candy Trail...that's for sure!)
We have a long wait until kickoff, so pass the time with final injury updates, game capsule previews and player profiles, inane tweets about food and college football, a couple of videos, and whatever else I've clipped and posted below.
Vote in the poll, elaborate in a comment, and share some commentary involving festive language and/or Halloween puns, too.
Let's make this a Halloween to Remember!!! (and don't drink too much tonight, or you won't remember anything)
From the Meaningless Stats Department...
(seeking to provide some Week 8 hope and comfort in a season that's been a bit trying already)
The 2010 New Orleans Saints are 2-0 in prime time games this season.
The 2010 New Orleans Saints are 2-0 in games following a loss this season.
Tonight's game is both a prime time appearance AND a game following a loss. How can we lose? (imagine this question boxed in the Rectangle of Sarcasm, please)

OK, I'll start
Voted for minor tweaks:
Wife and I will set out the candy bowl on the front walk by 5:30 pm EST, to allow trick or treaters to serve themselves. We’ll probably sit out on the porch until 7:00 or so, then retire inside to watch the Football Night in America recap/preview and then the BIG GAME.
Oh, we’ll have a 4:30 pm Skype call with my parents in between the Rams game (which we’ll watch with my wife’s son), dinner, and the Saints game, thereby meeting all of our familial obligations of the day.
All times EST, by the way.
Halloween Joke:
Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road?
He didn’t have the guts!!!! (ha ha ha ha)
It's gonna be a great year.
I havent been at home to see a Saints game since week 2
I at home ready to watch and i feel sure the Saints can pull it off
It should be a good game we should win by 10

Game On
It’s game day. I can go to a Halloween event after the game. Time for us to get it done. Geaux Saints!
BTW
If you can’t already tell, I’m going to be a troll this Halloween day, lurking and injecting spooky puns and witticisms into all the CSC goings-ons…if I get out of hand, just let me know and maybe I’ll stop.
It's gonna be a great year.
I think I've had too much candy already today

Work from 4:30 til about 1am. I’m a bartender in a restaurant, and we’ll definitely be showing the game, but somehow I hope to avoid it and watch it on DVR when I get home. Fat chance.
If I am good I could add years to my life / I would rather add some life to my years.
So what you saying

I have a son who is still—barely—of trick or treating age. He’s agreed to forego what may be his last foray in search of candy (which he doesn’t even like all that much) in order to allow us to watch the Saints game uninterrupted. He’s even going to man the candy bowl at the front door himself.
In exchange, we’ve agreed to let him come down from the attic more often.
Halloween joke for Hans:
Q. Why did the Saints beat up on the Steelers in the Superdome?
A. Because they wore their brown jerseys! (ha ha ha ha)
It was worth the wait.
lol
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

Not doing Halloween this year
My stepson is with his dad, and I don’t care for most of the kids in this apt complex, so I’ll be locked in with a 6-pack and my big screen TV. I can"t wait to watch the big game tonight. Hopefully we’ll trick all of the steelers fans and treat ourselves to a Happy Halloween!

My friend bought me a black top hat decorated with gold fleur, gold frills and a football
from a outdoor fair. Sort of a homemade craft kinda looking hat. Then I’m probably just gonna wear a black sport coat with a black/gold shirt underneath. The only question is what the shirt should say. Right now I’m leaning toward either “Boo Dat” or “Saints-inspired Costume” or just “Costume”
I’m looking for good shirt sayings still! Let’s hear them!
Wanna say something? Sign up! It's free!
Sad to say
I won’t be watching the game tonight. The first and only one this season I will miss. Going to see Bad Religion play in the ATL.
Real fast game prediction: with the way the NFL is shaping up this year, I think we’ve learned to expect the unexpected. That being said, Chris Ivory gashes the Steelers D for at least a buck fifty and two scores.
i wanted to dress up as brooks for this game
but i decided that wearing blackface with a huge grin may not go over very well….
